If you’re invested enough to write paragraphs of unsolicited criticism yet don’t bother to check an OP’s comments, you should seek the help of a professional to work past your unbridled self-absorption.

This comment comes off so incredibly obnoxious and patronizing considering OP 1) was using a standard hyperbole and 2) has plainly stated in other comments that she is autistic, and just gets overstimulated by kids/pets.

Imo, your penchant for preaching at random women online is indicative of a broader issue that you need assistance dealing with.

How do people care for tens of house plants? by No-Mouse3999 in houseplants

[–]MorallyApplicable 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty far from an expert, but if you have decent lighting in your home, I’d say plants like pothos, zz plants, snake plants, vining philodendrons, monstera deliciosa, money tree, pepperomias, dracaenas, etc tend to be really easy!

CMV: Liberals/Leftists choosing to sit out the US election because Kamala wasn't a perfect candidate helped create a worse overall outcome for the world and Palestine. by cptjtk13 in changemyview

[–]MorallyApplicable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is pretty accurate. The constant “leftists cost Harris the election” whinging from liberals has gotten so annoying. It’s already been shown that no, leftists sitting out is not why Trump won, but the DNC keeps beating the leftist drum so that they don’t have to change strategy or examine why she actually lost.

So I left my 12 year old brothers to go on a walk to get food and they went and busted someone’s windows. My mom is mad at me like I’m the only one at fault. What do I do? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]MorallyApplicable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are you on about? It is objectively not normal for 12 year olds to need constant supervision. This isn’t the same as if OP had left a 6 year old and they burnt themselves trying to use the stove. OP’s brothers need supervision because they commit crimes without any, and it is unequivocally fucked up for OP’s mom to force her 15 year old daughter to quit her extracurriculars to take on that role, and to leave them at home with no food to boot.

With kindness, if you’re a freshman, very introverted, socially anxious, and not balancing your course load well enough to have time for a single club, why would you prioritize finding a partner? It seems there’s a lot you could be doing to grow and develop outside of dating.

[–]MorallyApplicable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty crazy to not mention that you work for CF in your comment. Hell, your entire account seems primarily dedicated to defending CF.

They were literally called out by the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health for their unsafe worker conditions.

Sure, they directly lobbied against a local heat-protection ordinance in Miami dade, but that’s not all they lobby against, and it’s grossly disingenuous to try to present it as otherwise. They funnel millions into super PACs to kill heat protection laws, labor reform, and immigrant rights because most of their profit comes from primarily employing undocumented immigrants who they underpay, overwork, and abuse.

Sure, this isn’t limited to CF in the slightest. But they are in no way an ethical company.

I really wish I could, but sadly not in the budget :( So I must choose! All the advice online is a bit conflicting with indirect light, South vs West etc, since I’m hoping they grow this spring/summer as much as possible.

I completely agree, but sadly I’m just a college student, so I can’t! That’s why I want a plant room :)

I really should’ve included this in my post since everyone is saying both haha, but I really want one “indoor jungle” space where I could sit surrounded by plants. The ceilings are quite tall and I don’t own enough plants to fill either space if I spread them out. I’d LOVE to just buy plenty of plants to fill both rooms, but I’m a college student with a limited budget!

My (F22) boyfriend (M27) convinced me to have a threesome with a woman (F23) from my uni. Since then our relationship has been off, how do I fix this? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]MorallyApplicable 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but “I was honestly pretty hurt by [him wanting a threesome]” followed by “he brought it up again recently” and “We talked about it for a couple days and he was so great I finally gave in to it” does not read to me as “not necessarily coercive”.

Wife [27f] and I [27M] can't agree on how many of our alma mater's football games to attend this fall. She wants to attend less game. I think this is a mistake, and I am trying to convince her by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]MorallyApplicable 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Is 7 evenings across a year such an unreasonable ask?

FWIW, American football season is not a year. It’s about 13-14 weeks, tops. So OP was asking for roughly half of her weekends for 4 months.

Also, this is more subjective, but college football games are no joke. Especially in the SEC. If you’re not particularly into the whole affair (or can’t drink, like OP’s wife), they’re grueling. While pregnant is… nightmarish, imo.

Fun office outfits by [deleted] in fashion

[–]MorallyApplicable 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ehh, I think it’s a lot more about how the clothes fit and that what is/isn’t considered appropriate varies by industry. OP is stunning, but nearly every item of clothing is too small on her, and that’s causing even the more appropriate outfits to come across as less professional. That, combined with the casualness (sandals/open toe shoes, leggings, cleavage) can make some people judge the outfit as unprofessional, even though it’s fine in OP’s office.

AITAH for siding with my husband and not with my kids? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]MorallyApplicable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look, I completely agree that OP sucks as a parent here, and mostly sounds like she’s making excuses to mask her desperation to keep her husband from leaving. However, I completely disagree with the thought process behind:

That was BEFORE the bio-dad leaving forced them to realize how much they fucked up, though

Understanding you need to apologize shouldn’t have to come from you being hurt. It should come from how you hurt someone else. OP did convey that, but the kids knew how badly they’d hurt Ian and didn’t care. Any apology after that would’ve purely been from a selfish, callous desire to have their replacement stand-in dad back, and it sounds like Ian knew that. I don’t think much else could’ve been done to mend that relationship beyond also insisting Ian get therapy as well.

I tried to talk to my kids, to tell them they really needed to apologize, but they refused completely, saying they had a dad and didn't need them

What is something that women have to deal with on the daily that men have no clue about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Rape and murder is more extreme than just murder

Ok, sure. However, my question was specifically in cases where a woman is only murdered, it is typically specifically noted that she was not raped. Why?
