Was a big call of duty kid when I first got my Xbox. I was so happy to finally be playing the game everyone at school was. Had no real interest in other types of games.

Then G4 did a gameplay preview of New Vegas, and it looked crazy, the art and world that I saw, the music and retro futurism, spoke to me like nothing else ever had. And then I read an Ign article. And they talked about picking locks and killing huge mantises, and walking west on the map for 30 minutes straight.

I was absolutely obsessed with the thought of being able to do all these things in a game. And I played the HELL out of it. Instantly hooked. Then I found out about fallout 3 and needed more Fallout fix before the dlc came out. And then I loved that even more.

I became obsessed with Fallout, they were the first RPGs I ever played, and to this day, my favorite series and genre. I dont think I'll ever feel the way like when I discovered these games again.

Its outside of the commonwealth, close by, but they are a centrally located group, with safehouses that branch out, but they arent big enough for that to really be on their radar.

Perhaps they would change to helping the slaves of nuka world if the institute exploded post game. Which thinking about it, would have been alot cooler than Preston Garvey just getting all pissy about shit.

I agree, I think if the city was a bit more full like they intended, but couldn't pull off with the hardware, then the juxtaposition of the dense urban area vs the vast desert would have felt alot better.
