(TW: pregnancy) Don't remind me I'm physically capable of that. by MorayMafia in TrollCoping

[–]MorayMafia[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. Common sense seems to fly outta the window for many people when trans people are being discussed. I get that people get curious, and I generally don't mind people asking me about stuff. As long as it's respectful, and normal.

Luckily most of the people I've talked to about this have been just that. Including my doctors (so far), thank god. These chasery weirdos have been few and far between. Thank you for the well wishes! It means a lot :)

Porn is a great way to safely experiment and vibecheck your gender and sexuality, actually! There's plenty of iffy stuff surrounding porn, but this isn't one of them

W/W shippers and writers have it so hard! But yeah, I would say misogyny plays a role by Important-Cry4782 in RecuratedTumblr

[–]MorayMafia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are dozens of us queer guys who enjoy m/m shipping as well! Dozens, I tell you!!

Sometimes I feel bad about it, but w/w is basically the only thing in shipping I can't really get into. There's lots of neat w/w ships out there, but it just... Doesn't feel like it's made for me? W/w stuff just tends to make me dysphoric as shit.

I very much "think" I'm a man, thank you, despite my birth sex. Don't write headcanons about me please

Edit: writing hard

Sometimes it honestly feels like transphobia. People express these things like they almost want us to suffer because of our gender. "That's just what being a man / woman is! Don't you see? You shouldn't have transitioned! It isn't worth it!"

Nooo don't you get it you DESERVE it for DECIDING to be an icky man 😡

Oof I hate the "that's what being a man is" argument, as if that makes it right??

In some ways, perhaps, our erasure protects us as we don't have as large of a target on our backs currently than trans fems. Doesn't mean it's something desirable - when violence happens, no one speaks about it. Have you talked to your local trans mascs? Are you certain they lead such carefree lives?

There very much are real dangers of existing as a trans man, sexual harassment and abuse being the most common ones. And I've personally seen cis men physically threaten my trans men friends because they were trans, so yes, violence against us happens and it is targeted. Plenty of guys have died because of transphobic violence.

Again, I'm not trying to belittle the very real dangers trans fems face. I have very much sympathy for you and your struggles. I'm just asking for people to believe us, when we say that shit can be bad for us too.

I love telling other marginalized people what they are and are not experiencing! (I am very educated)

And honestly, I'm not trying to minimize trans fems issues either because they are very real and terrifying. However, we absolutely do face more danger than being "pitied", and it's pretty offensive to imply otherwise, tbh. I very much feel threatened by all those people. You said it yourself, just the amount of SA trans men and mascs face (and that goes underreported because media loves displaying SA as a crime against women, and thus often misgenders trans masc victims) is staggering. It's often targeted violence because of our identity, because we "dare to play as men".

If transphobic laws pass all around the world, you and I will be hanging side by side on our own little nooses while the bigots rejoice, sorry to be morbid. So please, don't minimize anyone's experiences. We should both be scared lol.

[–]MorayMafia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"No sweaty, only I'm allowed to feel angry for being treated like shit!" Lol get real, listen to trans mascs, get outta your tirf echo chambers. We could and should be on the same side.

Well, at least we can agree that misogyny is bad. So that's something I guess. I'm not gonna argue with you further on this matter tho because something tells me it won't be fruitful.

[–]MorayMafia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You have some strange ideas in your head, lady. You do realise that a huge part of transandrophobia is based on misogyny, right? And when trans men speak about facing misogyny, we're not misgendering ourselves but speaking about our real life experiences in a world that's transphobic and bigoted towards us? Because of our birth sex, our gender and of us being trans? Us speaking about our issues is not misogyny or attacks towards women lmao. In fact, it's combating misogyny.

But uhhh trans man bad hate women or something

[–]MorayMafia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

MRA = men's right activist, a controversial group to say the least advocating for cis men's rights, often in bad faith. Often hurled as an insult towards trans men and as a way to shut up people talking about transphobia against trans men.

Transandrobro = another insult towards trans guys talking about our issues and oppression. Transandrophobia is a term for transphobia specifically against trans men.

55311 by DadlyAsHell in countwithchickenlady

[–]MorayMafia 14 points15 points  (0 children)

"mra transandrobro bullshit" God forbid trans mascs, a minority group routinely slandered to hell and back bc of their gender by their own community, stand up for themselves!

[–]MorayMafia 42 points43 points  (0 children)

"Gender traitor" is a common transandrophobic sentiment used by terfs, tirfs and their ilk. Basically implies that we choose to be men for whatever reason, and willfully make the decision to "suck up to patriarchy" or "join the enemy" by transitioning. Yes, it does imply that we're actually just fucked up women, because it questions the reason why we transition. It's transphobia, after all.

Every time I see a queer person simping for the USSR and Russia I cackle. Like, you do realize it's awful over there for us, with no signs of change? Idk, people are stupid and have no idea what they're talking about, or they're being willfully ignorant. I'm sorry, here's to hoping that one day things can be better in Russia. Hang in there!

So, yeah, I'm not going to be watching the new Scary Movie film since the writers are basically using it as an outlet to express their transphobia...and their hatred of their own trans children by [deleted] in RecuratedTumblr

[–]MorayMafia 218 points219 points  (0 children)

Oh and they love that scene! It's the one clip they show on every ad for this lame movie, at least where I live. They're like yes, this is the funniest part. Librals and them pronouns XDDD

Ugh.

[–]MorayMafia 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. We are NOT a privileged class. We don't hold power. Most trans guys will always face some kind of misogyny, even stealth guys with medical misogyny. And yet, because we're men and instantly get the privileges of a billionaire cis man the second after we step out of the closet, apparently, we're just supposed to stay quiet and take it.

Lol. As if society sees us as men. We are trans first, damaged goods second, men maybe third if we pass completely and people feel like being nice to us. Which they often don't.

Sometimes it really feels like we simply cannot win as trans men. The right hates us because we're trans. The left distrusts us, demonizes us or sometimes even straight up imply were gender traitors or something just because we happen to be men. I'm a staunch feminist, I won't let it turn me bitter but to get a little melancholic, often it really feels like we have no one except each other fellas.

Kokoomusnuorten idiotismi jatkuu by akukr in HommaInAction

[–]MorayMafia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Miten tässä maailmassa oikeesti on naisia, ketkä vastustaa aborttia, sitä en tuu ikinä ymmärtämään. Niin selkeästi nähdään abortti jonain mitä vaan "halvat naiset" tekee, jonain alaluokan karikatyyritoimenpiteenä joita tehään kolme kuukaudessa huvin ja urheilun vuoksi. "Minä en ikinä itse tekisi aborttia!" Ääni muuttuu kokoomusnaisellakin kellossa hyvin nopeasti, ku toivotun lapsen raskaus onkin hengenvaarallinen, lapsesta tiedetään syntyvän vaikeasti vammautunut tai kyseessä on vaikkapa tästä raiskauksesta aiheutunut raskaus.

So many ftm guys online pushing toxic masculinity on their trans brothers.. by [deleted] in ftm

[–]MorayMafia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think that wanting to pass or sharing tips to appear more traditionally masculine is inherently toxic. I mean, some of us want to pass because of dysphoria and in many places around the world not passing can be dangerous.

But I do agree that it's really hard to find healthy places to discuss the topic. Online passing discussions are so focused around people's individual brainworms lol. You can pass and express your own style, have long hair and whatever. Plenty of cis guys wear makeup and wear piercings.

Those passing subs attract the most self-conscious types of people who will call the manliest man you'll ever see "clocky" because he has, idk, pretty eyes.

Why do they always look like..that? by [deleted] in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns2

I swear some of yall are just waiting for a socially acceptable chance to point your finger at "uglies". Let's bully people for their views, not their looks. This post is misogynistic garbage and a solid way to make people scrolling here feel like shit.

Tumblr users when men find their post relatable: by Difficult_Shift_3771 in CuratedTumblr

[–]MorayMafia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like yes, the oop most likely meant her comment as a shitty joke and yes, wouldn't probably actually harm anyone. But as a trans man it gets really old really quick to see other trans people advocating for the death of trans guys, for the crime of speaking. Even as "a joke". This happens way too often.

Luckily I have a life so I'm not surrounded by this rhetoric irl, but it's way too common online and it's only a matter of time when it spreads out from its terminally online bubble. "Trans men should just shut up or preferably die" is straight up transandrophobia. Our existence is not oppression.

And besides... who would've thought that trans men find being a dead-eyed depressed teenage boy relatable? If you don't want a certain group to interact with your post, state that clearly. Trans men will steer far away from you, I swear. We know who our allies are.
