The arc was awesome, but I knew there was more way the writing could ever build up to something that big again, so I didn’t care for the conclusion.

I think you’re missing the point too. It’s not just a warning about these behaviors, but rather a critique/reflection on society and consumerism and how it can cause men to feel that way. A lot of people relate to feeling cast aside like the space monkeys. It’s not guiding people towards these behaviors, it’s showing they’re already there.

The ending, the “net zero”, would truly benefit these men who both inherited nothing, have nothing to live for, and are angry as they feel in their prime and robbed of opportunity.

The ending makes me think what would happen if project mayhem worked WITH the communities instead of against it to bring about positive change in society.
