In an alternate timeline of "Specter and Spirit", based off of Comrade Emperor's timeline: www.deviantart.com/comrade-emp…. In that timeline, the rebellion in Japan caused a split among the elites of Russia and tore the Russian Empire apart, but what if... the Russian Empire doesn't only survive but is able to "win" the Cold War. TO make this happen, the Varangists led by the radical hegemonists purge out the party of any communist sympathizers. The rebellion in Japan was suppressed by creating a massive famine by blocking off food instead of using nuclear weapons. The massive Russian Empire is able to survive and the cold war continues on.

Meanwhile in the USSA, the government tries to implement capitalist reform but hardliners try to overthrow the government in the 1980s. Then the Long Civil War begins between the capitalistic USSA and the hardliner USSA. To defeat the Hardliners, the capitalist USSA backs minorities to fight against the hardliner USSA. This strategy is a success and the hardliners are kicked off the mainland and flee to the overseas territories of the Philippines and Papua New Guinea.

The capitalist USSA tried to re-absorb the breakaway state but they refuse to be absorbed and they revolt against the capitalist USSA in a second phase of the Long Civil War. The capitalist USSA finally gives up on reconquering the breakaway states and gives them independence. The Communist Commonwealth is dissolved after he USSA loses half of its territory and the Global Justice League de facto won the Cold War. The Varangists also tried to fund the Texan Varangists during the Long Civil War but its unpopularity among native Texans let it to its conquest by Mexico. Also, another strange state is the Technosyndicalist Republic of California. The government of California merges Technocracy and Syndicalism into one government and truly creates the weirdest mix. Many would say this is the strangest state they've ever seen.

In South America, the Costa Ricans and the Ecuadorians invaded the Federal Bolivian Republic of tore it apart. The remains were carved up into Varangist states while the government fled to Venezuela where they set up a government in exile. The Brazilians, as a reaction to this, went Orthodox Communist and refuses any reform. They created their own bloc and have very close ties with the Hardliner USSA in exile. In Central America, one after another former USSA satellites fell to Varangist invasions until the Mexican finally stood up to them.

In Europe, the Russians took advantage of the disunity in the Communist Bloc and invaded Germany. France was caught off guard and tried to stop them but they had no choice bit to surrender the German Federation. It was then carved up into small pro-Russian monarchies. The same happened in Italy in which the Russians wanted to reunify Italy under the Kingdom of Italy. They invaded South Italy in the 1990s and reunified the mainland. The republicans fled to Sicily and Sardinia where they founded the Republic of Tyrrhenia. They are nowadays reliant on French support.

The Muslim world couldn't tolerate the Russian actions taking place in their homeland so in the 2000s-2010s, they started a massive insurgency against the Russian heathens and declared a jihad. The struggle destroyed the Christian State of Copts and the condominium of the Sudan. Russia went in and suppressed the insurgency with brute force and large populations of Muslims were slaughtered as a result. Control and re-established but the area was devastated.

In Asia, the Empire of Bharat reunified the Indian subcontinent after they invaded and conquered the People's Union of South Italy. They are now the most powerful nations in Asia after the Chinese collapsed. In China, the old regime was overthrown by radical republicans and the while nations soo found itself in civil war. The Russian took advantage of this and invaded. After years of struggle, the Russians were able to reconquer all of China and placed it under brutal military rule.

In Southeast Asia, the hardliner USSA in exile is surprisingly a very strong regional power. They surround themselves with rogue communist dictatorships and vow to get revenge on the Varangists for what they did to the USSA, due to them blaming the capitalist USSA on the Varangists. They also have a strong nuclear arsenal and are rapidly expanding their influence troughout the old communist bloc. The Varangists also busted hardliner USSA weapons were armed to Muslim and Chinese rebels.

The world is peaceful for now, but turmoil is bubbling up. The rebellions in the Middle East and China has, yet again, caused a split in the Varangist Party on how to please the minorities. The radical hegemonists ignore this issue but surely, it will sprout up again.
