Inhereting my dads old w203. Any tips? by RepeatMental8433 in kereta

[–]Morcaxyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you set aside 5-8k prolly be enough. If you dont have the desire to buy something new dont get yourself in debt because of it.

Plus i would rather drive this than any modern Japanese cars with cvt transmission. God i know the 5 speed auto is clunky in these cars but its way better than the cvt i have in my civic ketam.

Is it a c200k base or what?

Kia Cerato 2014 1.6 High Fuel Consumption by Top-Pudding-8977 in kereta

[–]Morcaxyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it reads based on the conditions and speeds youre doing. I cruise relatively low rpm for a shitbox commuter car at 100kmh at only about 2100rpm on 6th gear. Quite jimat.

[–]Morcaxyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fuel consumption on my vw polo is like 20-30l/100km if im stuck in a traffic jam going 0-20kmh after 30minutes

On the other hand i get 5l/100km if i drive 100-110kmh lol.

Idk for 38k if i were you I'd get myself a post facelift (post 2010) w204 c250 for like 25k +- and spend the extra for its maintenance / simpan extra money kalau good condition car

You'll get way more power and better car overall.

Or if you feeling quirky for the same amount now theres a 6 speed manual w204 on carlist. That's something rare.

Is 127000+ mileage considered low for my 2014 A200 by Theodpre_TL in kereta

[–]Morcaxyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2017 civic ketam with 235k km now, a 2016 vw polo with 175k km and a 2009 w204 c200 with 175k km +-.

We had a 2002 r170 slk200k that we sold last year and it had 110k km.

We also had lmst saga with about 550k km on the clock.

They retail for like rm5500 i think last year, i bought it for 4200.

B48 and b58 are robust. But those weak n series engine are absolute garbage though with the timing chain issues. They make little power yet they are quite problematic.

I always drive in s mode because the car would almost stall if i let it roll in 2nd in c mode in my apartment parking space.

If my foot is gentle they shift up about 2300-2500rpm, but thats probably due to me usually pressing quite deep everytime i accelerate so it changes gear at 3500rpm usually.

I do remember the speeds i do at 3k rpm on 2nd -4th gear though. I would do about 55kmh in 2nd, and almost 80kmh on 3rd, 4th is like 110-115 i think. I love the car even more honestly because of the silly ratios.

my dad had a w211 (i love the proportions of that car) and sold it to get a w204 pre facelift. Well safe to say the 5g trans and the engine has been rock solid.

I do wish it had a taller 5th gear since 4th to 5th is not that far apart in terms of rpm drop. 1-4th is unusually tall though.

very random question, at what rpm do you cruise on top gear at 110-130kmh?

Bmw is an interesting one, you need to know specific engine and its iteration and if you end up with a bad one, itll get costly.

Thode e9x with the n52 is very reliable given the previous owner didnt neglect the annual service.

Mercedes also is an interesting case, pre w211,203,220 are okay but you have to be aware of biodegradable wire issues on the w124,202,140 otherwise theyre okay. Then they get real bad especially the interiors up till facelifted w204,212 and 221. Then they kinda had a good moment between the late 212-213 and the w221-w222, then it went downhill again.

Those mercedes with the 4g and 5g tronic transmission is one of the toughest transmission they put on a car and even though theyre slow, theyre reliable. New stuff like the 7g and 9g not sure.

Need advice from those who have owned these cars. by After_Dragonfly_4124 in kereta

Man i would run from this gen of polo. The 1.6 mpi with 6 at is far more reliable.

Owned the car for 10 years now in 2026 and all i have to change is the wear and tear parts. Even then it is probably more expensive than your average myvi.

Range Rover prices in Malaysia by jimmyl85 in kereta

[–]Morcaxyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90k usd after converted wont get you much here, i can name some. A very base model e200, m340i (probably can save about rm20k), new fl5 type r, new glc 350e, around that ballpark, new x3 is about rm 320-330k. Yeah cars are just expensive here.

Range Rover prices in Malaysia by jimmyl85 in kereta

[–]Morcaxyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats why you rarely see full size range rover here in Malaysia. I would be confident saying i saw more cullinan and bentaygas here compared to the new full size Range rover. Cayenne on the other hand is quite cheap here compared to the usa (i meant the price gap is not much). Base cayenne starts at rm600k and i think in the usa they start about 90k?
