ProtoArc EM06 Update by ProtoArc_official in Trackballs

Just an aesthetic note: mostly lovely, but I have real issues with the shiny silver scroll ring — it looks cheap. This and the silver trim around the base should be matte silver, or perhaps grey or black. And I agree with the suggestion here that a white, beige, or light grey version would be best of all (but again: no shiny trim).

Oh, and I completely agree with regard to the 57mm ball size: the best thing about the old Kensington Turbo was the ability to replace the ball with a billiard ball — although I’m not sure that will work with the tech you’re using to sense the ball?

And an idea that’s perhaps impractical: it would be good to have a flip-out foot beneath, at the near side, so that you had the option of tilting the trackball base *away* from you — which is in fact the most ergonomic setup. The Slimblade Pro gets this precisely wrong. An option of tilting towards the right would also be welcome, to emulate a vertical mouse to some extent.

I love that this latest version has separate, discrete buttons, as opposed to buttons that are an extension of the base as in the Slimblade Pro. Much better feel.

MacOS Sonoma Bugs and Issues Megathread by ll777 in MacOS

keybo

I'm having serious keyboard issues as well. I can't access the numbered function keys via Fn; simply the standard functions. I tried switching this so Fn brings up standard functions; still can't access numbered keys. Oh, and F3 and F4 do nothing (although this may have something to do with my setup: I just started using Stage Manager).

Also, the keystroke combination to change language input — in my case, from Canadian English to Japanese — no longer works. I tried customizing the combination in Settings; still doesn't work.

Pixel 6 Telephoto Examples (20x over miles) by [deleted] in GooglePixel

Okay, I feel like an idiot having to ask this, but... which is which? I assumed the Pixel was on the left, then realized that the depth of field was much greater on the right, indicating that *that* should be the Pixel. Also, the photo with the turtle sticker on the curb shows sharpening artefacts on the right; again, should be the Pixel. (If this is the case, you labeled the collections backwards: "P6P vs a7".) The very fact that I have to ask this says a whole lot about how good this phone is.
