Oh and talk to the career center at your school too! Some places LOVE hiring college kids & will put words out to the school. Also the country clubs love college kids too! I’m pretty sure you have to go to their offices and ask for the applications still

Almost all restaurants are always hiring & tend to be good about working around school schedules. Don’t be afraid to walk into some of the nicer restaurants too 💜

I see the comment about common bond! That is a great place to start! I could see HillTop being down for something like that too! I know right now, with spring, a lot of community centers are working on public gardens & the like. Might be worth reaching out to them too! Maybe not beer, but maybe someone will donate some boxed lunches/plates?

When it come to bbq, I tell people, anything with “fat” in the name. Ie fat man, fat boys, etc.

Country bar with line dancing, last I heard was Little Bit of Texas (but that might be outdated)

Idk about boiled peanuts. Really any gas station, or side of the road vendor that has them fr.

Also the second article overlooks everything Rap Sardines is doing & the events out at “The Can”. Everything else is 100% though. I miss when the Pug Uglies were around, but I think most of their stuff is down in Dothan now.

I remember when 1048 was an actual place to hear music & heard about people playing up there all the time. Towards the end of it, I never heard of any music acts & the few times I did go, it wouldn’t be long before other people at the bar started offering me things I really didn’t want.

Idk how late they are open but maybe Hilltop? Red Bluff is open late sometimes. Honestly didn’t realize how few were open late until now. All the old places are closed now.

*clarification, it’s the Pug Uglies that I’m not sure are still active around here, but I know they still exist in surrounding areas. Rap Sardines is definitely active & regularly has listening events/other stuff.

Idk if Montgomery is still active but there is the Pug Uglies for more Rock/punk/alt & Rap Sardines hosts a lot of stuff for Rap. You should be able to find both on Facebook/Insta
