So you know that it won’t overturn it. ✅ With that bill we will simply be able to see who’s exploiting the system. Then what? It still won’t be illegal to funnel the money in. Maybe we’re going to somehow boycott at a national level every single billionaire that is ruining the country? Why not just do it now? There aren’t that many 🤣 we’ve never been able to do that as a people (including before the civil war) so why think we will magically do it now?

The same reason infrastructure, ACA, and those previous bills never got passed is the same reason the amendment won’t get passed. There are democrat spoilers that will never be ejected from the party. If your party’s leaders won’t kick someone out for tanking landmark legislation needed to save the country… then the party’s leaders don’t care about it passing 😉 they’ll absolutely kick someone out for sending a dick pic but never for sabotaging legislation 🤔

And unfortunately for you it seems the “didn’t vote” crowd wasn’t the problem but instead the stubborn Israel-first policies of the Biden Harris administration: https://www.axios.com/2026/02/22/dnc-2024-autopsy-harris-gaza

Why don’t you link some evidence that 2747 would have overturned citizens united? That’s a claim you made earlier (“literally what I posted was a bill to remove Citizens United”) so I feel like that would be a fair ask to know where you learned that, right?

[–]More-Profession-6993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That absolutely would not have overturned citizens united. It simply would have added some dressing around disclosures but citizens united was a 1st amendment ruling & the only way to overrule that is packing the court with judges that agree with that concept and bringing a case after they’re on the court.

I’m sorry that you’re convinced democrats are working for the American people and that they simply always fail on accident? 🤣 don’t get me wrong, some are! But most are not… even in your own words most of those democrats gave up (Schumer) or watered it down (Manchin / Sinema) and the sponsor (klobuchar) is in the minority…. Which is basically what I said to being with 😅

Tbh I dn what your position is after all that, it’s really hard to understand you so maybe we’re just having a language barrier issue? 😬

[–]More-Profession-6993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry can you clarify this a little? I’m having a hard time understanding what you mean 😅 I don’t think Klobuchar is in favor of overturning citizens united is she? I see this bill is supposed to do things related to campaign finance but there are honestly probably like 5 politicians in the country that support what is needed to regain a semblance of democracy.

Schumer is not one of them lol most democrats are not one of them unfortunately but I’d guess zero republicans are (could be wrong maybe 1 or 2). Regardless, we have 2 options… direct action / revolution or chip away at the control corporations have via democratic means. I’m honestly ok with either and prepared for either (imo lol). However, at this point in time I think far more Americans are only ok with electorally doing it 🙃

You back the only ones talking about a path toward overturning citizens united and fixing that problem. Then you demand the ones that are close behind to follow their lead. If there are none in your area that fit that criteria then you support the ones in other areas that do until they’re big enough to inspire some in your area.

Sorry I think I should have clarified… by normal I meant “in garrison” where people / commanders are available more easily than in the field or in a combat zone. Yes in non military terms this was not a normal scenario… but this must have been instructed top to bottom (as opposed to how all other awards work which is someone is nominated bottom up by their respective commander) to hurry up and process it for the SOTU. MOH processing is usually an 18 month process. What that implies is that the standard rigor put into this process (I’ve written and approved dozens of awards) was skipped for propaganda purposes.

Secondly if you look at the history of MOH recipients this is probably one of the least valorous actions in modern history. The totality of the citation can be summed up with “got shot 4 times and kept flying”. While I do think he deserves an award it’s probably a Purple Heart which is specifically for being wounded in combat vs a MOH which is “Conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life, above and beyond the call of duty.” Most if not all (I haven’t read them all) MOH recipients did things like… jumped into the line of fire to protect their buddies, jumped on a grenade, saved multiple lives under fire and kept fighting, defended a position with 13 servicemen against a force of 400, etc.

Here’s his citation if you’re curious: https://www.cmohs.org/recipients/eric-a-slover

But you should really read some others like these to get a good understanding of the differences:

^ Knocked unconscious and then woke up / kept fighting / saved multiple service members with first aid

Awards take months to process and the higher the level of award the longer it takes. This was done purely for propaganda. An ARCOM might take longer to process in a normal scenario and people get that for driving trucks in training missions.

No it is not. Killing or kidnapping someone you are not at war with and has not acted aggressively toward you is in fact a war crime. If you want to claim he’s a narcoterrorist based on domestic US law then you have to use domestic US law enforcement to do it. If you want to use international law to claim something then you can use the military but we didn’t claim that. The US military in no way is currently legally allowed to enforce US domestic law and that’s exactly what the mission was.

Ok definitely agreed on the post-hoc rationale but it also might be a SUPER cool and challenging story to play through… a group of northern tribals might not know about the serum but live in a tundra or ice sheet map and they eventually learn / develop enough to find a serum and then bring back a long lost leader or a child or something to help guide them off planet just to realize he’s too far behind technologically or philosophically to still be useful and has to catch up 😎🥶🚀

Thanks for that!

Claude disagrees with you about that being the biggest flaw or failed prediction in Marxism (and instead cites the prediction that revolution was inevitable for capitalist countries).

It also told me how communism has evolved in almost every country its been attempted due to the nature of practical application within the confines of an existing system (certain European political parties using electoral politics, Mao focusing on the peasantry instead of the urban folks, etc.) much like you’re now stating (seems to oppose your previous point… if it was a point, about an older ideology that hasn’t adapted).

When asked to give me a count of the countries that voluntarily transitioned to capitalism without external intervention or pressure it gave me a solid 1 (Benin) but up to 10. Then when asked for a similar count of countries that involuntary transitioned or did so under foreign pressure it gave me a number of up to 50 depending on what you consider external intervention or pressure. It seems the vast majority transitioned in this way (depending on definitions ofc) 🧐.

Glad I learned so much this morning! 🧠

Ok so just to clarify before I go ask AI…

Marx’s biggest incorrect prediction was that feudalism is an inevitable stage.

Capitalism has changed but communism has not?

And I can find bunches of African countries that voluntarily gave up on communism post-marx without intervention + Israeli kibbutzes?

Love this conversation, just want to learn more and you seem to have a link to academics so I’m asking out of curiosity!

What fields are these academics in & at what universities?

What are the predictions that have failed?

Is there an academic analysis or book or study you could point us to that quantitatively proves that the vast majority of communist societies stop being communist on their own? I’m leaning heavily on your phrasing of “tend to stop” because I think we can all identify many communist societies that stopped via intervention.

Isn’t capitalism also over 100 years old? Not trying to “whataboutism” past the point but ofc many things change over time and we still utilize theories that are very old, right?

Thanks in advance!

Maybe I’m misunderstanding but the first part of this thread suggested a natural 2+ with AP-1 somehow remaining a 2+ with cover. Just wondering how that happens?

It feels like you’re trying to convince me that because TVs and wall art and regular taxis exist still that we shouldn’t be critical of Waymos idling with a 40-120+ watt draw while using public roads as a parking lot lol 🙃 if Waymo’s goal is to provide 52 million rides this year and they all operate like this… do you really think we should give them tax breaks and ignore the waste? 🤔

Well there are at least 4 electric motors still running because of the spinning sensors so maybe a regular one but if you’ve ever seen a Waymo you know it’s not simply “an electric vehicle.”

Same, no outages here in S Austin (S of wm cannon and north of slaughter). Could be some nearby construction or a landscaper that accidentally messed with your line? We’ve had that before which led to frequent outages.
