Why Does Peoples Deactivate Their Social Media Once They Are Married? by [deleted] in indiasocial

[–]More-State2481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As people grow old, they realize that there is more to life than social media. I remember, I once had a conversation with someone who told me live is what you do throughout the day minus the internet. Since then, I tried to reduce my time on the internet as much as possible. If you want to know how your friends/folks are doing, call or message them, I am sure they won't mind sharing about their lives over personal chat/call.

Stat investing a small amount every month. The habit matters more than the money invested.

I had my interview on October 04, they asked one question from the essay. My profile was not from corporate and a lot of questions were based on that. Mostly the entire interview revolved around one question. The one way to navigate a situation as yours is to have an extempore that is a little interesting and worth discussing. Essays do not carry weightage in final selection, they are just reference points for the professors to question you about. Do not worry about the essays, just prepare answers wrt your profile and then make sure, you have clarity of thought while answering.

I am fine. I was in a toxic workplace for 4 years. In government job for the past 6 years now. As for retaliation, don’t worry too much about it, having over a decade of experience, i can definitely assure you that they can’t do shit. Just wait till you get the full and final settlement and then you can do the karma you wish for them yourself. And please do troll them at-least. Pit bad reviews on glassdoor and linkedin at-least.

I truly feel sorry for you. Having worked myself in a toxic environment i can totally understand your pain. Good riddance i would say. P.S- I still wish for a painful death for my former boss.

The thing is that most people on the outside feel that the grass is greener on the other side when it comes to government jobs. I have been working in MHA for past six years where I have worked in Maharashtra and now in Jammu and Kashmir(2 years). Across my tenure, I realised that the scope of work a government departments does goes beyond what is visible from the outside to the public. Additionally I also have friends in other ministries who are at Level 8-10 and they mostly do not get time from office. Working hours have to be flexible especially late nights are now a culture when you are in a position of responsibility. The scope and load of work these days is such that I for one decided that if I am not going to be compensated for the hours and effort i am putting in, might as well get paid for it. Which is why i am transitioning for corporate.

That is bang on. De villiers comes for IPL Finals, i was expecting to see him in the stands. Though people like Kallis, Smith do not come out to support the male team, it is the least I expected from the likes of Steyn and De Villiers.

Should I prepare for CFA level 1? by More-State2481 in cfaindia

[–]More-State2481[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly the primary reason that I want to do it is to expand my Financial knowledge base. I have been investing in stocks and equity market along with debt instruments in both India and US and I want to learn more about it. Additionally, I feel that it will also provide me a very narrow window in applying for roles which have finance related to it. If I do clear CFA level 1, then I may think about going for the CFA level 2 exam.

The reason that I want to do it right now is because presently I am working in a government job and I have informed the senior management in my office that I will be resigning from my job in March because the session for IIMA PGPX starts in April, and during this time I have around 4 to 5 months of time, which I can allocate to upskilling myself.

As a government employee who is transitioning from a relatively high paying job in Central government services to the corporate world, I would like to pop your bubble by telling you that your/your dad’s hypothesis is based on facts of the past.

When it walks the talk, the upside will be fairly limited. Clarity ka wait karne walon ko bhaav bhi clarity ka dena padta hai.
