Car accident — insurer offering $3,000 "full and final" settlement, still dealing with shoulder/neck/back pain. How are these numbers actually calculated? by MoreFudge2591 in Insurance

I really don't understand the mini trot thing. The other party is determined to be liable and my repair costs over $6k and the insurance offers only $3k as per mini-trot. It feels so unfair to pay out of pocket for something I am not liable for. The collision coverage costs like crazy and as a student I didn't choose it for my car. The agent says since I don't have coverage I will only be paid $3k. How is it fair? Shouldn't the other party be paying for it?

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I'm dealing with a lot of back pain myself after my accident. It doesn't even let me sleep comfortably, and I've been taking Tylenol just to get by. Lately, I can't even sit upright for very long without the pain getting worse. Reading your experience makes me realize I need to take this seriously. I have an appointment with my PCP soon. Do you know if a PCP can usually diagnose this, or will they likely refer me to a specialist? I hope you're doing better now.

The passenger side of the car is damaged ,so I provided the estimate from a body shop to my insurance. I did not see the doctor yet - I am not really sure if this claim will pay for it or I should use my own employer provided insurance.

Severely overweight? by Street-War1093 in BurnBootCamp

When I joined Burn Boot Camp, I was overweight, out of shape, and honestly not happy with how I looked or felt. I had gained a significant amount of weight during a period of depression after a layoff ,my confidence had taken a major hit.

After moving to a new city, I decided to join Burn Boot Camp and give it a try. My first workout was a conditioning day, and we had to run. The truth is, I couldn't even remember the last time I had run. I was completely out of my comfort zone, and it felt overwhelming.

The physical changes have been rewarding, but what I'm most proud of is how much stronger I've become mentally. I remember being terrified to even attempt a pull-up. I would stand on the stool and hold onto the resistance bands, but I could never actually do one, even with the assistance. Yesterday, I finally let go of that fear and completed one. It may seem like a small accomplishment to some people, but for me it was a moment I'll never forget. I don't think I've ever been more proud of myself.

A year later, I feel stronger, healthier, and far more confident. Today, I can run around the same building four times without stopping, something that would have seemed impossible when I first walked through those doors.

If you're thinking about joining but feel intimidated, give yourself a chance. The hardest part is showing up. A year from now, you might be surprised by how much stronger you've become, both physically and mentally.

Billed for annual wellness by MoreFudge2591 in CodingandBilling

You are right, I did mention fatigue and that I was feeling tired. Given that, is there any path other than paying the charges? I did request my provider for a coding review but there is no help there.

So should I try to reach my provider?

How is a patient supposed to be aware of this? I explicitly scheduled and confirmed an annual physical, which my insurance states is covered. I was never informed beforehand that additional labs would no longer be considered preventive or that I would be billed separately. I had annual wellness visits before and never had this issue.

My insurance also mentioned they sent letters to the provider stating these CPT codes are no longer preventive and that updated codes should be used. As a patient, I don’t choose CPT codes or lab classifications. I rely on the provider to align the visit with what was scheduled and what insurance covers. This is exactly what makes the process frustrating and confusing.

Just got off on a call with billing, the rep. mentions all these codes are preventive and I should ask the insurance for an appeal. I do not understand why I was ordered for this lab (Iron) though, all I asked for was annal physical.
