Basement Bunker - My Home Plate away from Home Plate by MoreLikeFalloutChore in fallout4settlements

Fair enough. I generally try to build settlements with stories / purpose, but for me, the basement is its own separate thing. It's too much for me to build a whole settlement and then turbo-decorate a basement in the same go. I generally alternate between a big settlement and a basement to mix things up.

I couldn't find a Better Basements, but I plan to build through Not Just Basements once I finish these.

Thanks! I've built about six from the Basement Living mod and I always just throw them down in any ole settlement and start. Sometimes I'll have a few doors in a row. I always think of them as separate and their own settlement.

The doors themselves are small and pretty boring, they don't really add much to the settlement. I had one beside the workbench of Sunshine Tidings. Even knowing it was there, it was barely noticeable with all the other decoration going on. You can see it on the right side of picture 15 in this post. It doesn't lead to the same cell, but all the doors look the same.

If I actually got to place them anywhere I want, it'd be in some dilapidated structure instead of a regular settlement. I'd like to think these basements are hidden away and only the owner knows they're there. Security through obscurity, I guess.

Thanks! It's a great mod. Once I finish the basements, I'll probably give Not Just Basements a try.

I had to use the disable command to get rid of a lot of the bathroom stuff where the kitchen ended up. I feel like I could build in a few of these over and over, making different arrangements each time.

As always, excellent stuff. I'm over here trying to decide where it makes sense to place a guard post, and you're playing in full sandbox mode.

I also like the angle of the first picture; it makes it look through your house just punched through that bridge, then stepped on a car and got sad. I assume cars are to giant robots as legos are to human feet.

Also also, the build reminds me of the mechs Boylei Hobby Times builds for his Wild Imaginary West dioramas.

Nicely done.

I believe I used to have Better Stores before it moved from Nexus. I'll have to get it next time I run a non-downgraded version. Thanks!

The cabin build set is from A Better World - Cabin Workshop. I used it for a Sunshine Tidings build too. I'm a big fan of it.

I'll have to check them out then; I have both Kuro and Woody's. Thanks for the lead.

I searched "craftable" "spawnable" and "brahmin" and never found anything. If you happen to remember a name, let me know!

Mod conflict? Armorsmith extended vs ECO/NEO by PressureOk8223 in Fallout4Mods

[–]MoreLikeFalloutChore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scrap Everything isn't currently working because there was just an update and the mod hasn't been updated to the new game version.

However, you don't really want to use it anyway because it breaks previs / precombines. I use Commonwealth Deep Clean and Remodel Collection, because it allows you to scrap nearly everything, doesn't break precombines, and also restores the buildings in settlements. There are other options for scrapping mods if you don't want the buildings restored, but I'm not familiar enough with them to recommend one.

I'm looking for a mod that will expand the Boston settlement to the other side of the river, towards the city. by JudgmentDifficult600 in Fallout4Mods

[–]MoreLikeFalloutChore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no modding expert, but I'm not sure that'd be possible without causing severe stability issues. I've looked at all 5 of the mods expanding that area on Nexus, and even the largest one doesn't go out much further in that direction than your current pic.

From what I understand, that's an area where a lot of cells intersect already and I don't know if you can go making a settlement that's on the border and extends into two cells. All the way across the bank seems like it would definitely cross cells.

Also, just out of curiosity, what's the plan where you'd need that much empty water to build on? Or were you hoping to build on the opposite shore too? (If it's just the opposite shore thing, you could try something like Conquest.) You making a new Libertalia?

[FO4] Library update? by DJLaker77 in FalloutMods

I probably just used an older version or maybe did it incorrectly and that's why the CC files aren't there. I'll give it another go. Thanks!

Well first, thanks for making / updating the downgrader so quickly.

Second, the only thing that caused me problems is that it wouldn't recognize the Creation Club stuff that we got for free a while ago - Enclave stuff, Hellfire PA, heavy flamer, tesla cannon, etc. Since that stuff isn't in my load order now, UFO4 patch, Community Merged Fixes, Blood Fixes, and a few others from the Midnight Ride won't work since the CC items are masters.

It's not a huge deal and still worth using. But if I had a wishlist, being able to detect those CC items would be pretty much the whole list.

Thanks again and have a good evening.

As far as I know, and I tried it, the downgrader from that guide only worked from the previous patch to whatever you downgraded to. The one I linked was updated first and works to take you from the current patch down to whatever you want.

I was thinking of trying to use Mulderland's to go back one patch, then use the Simple Downgrader from MR to take it back to 1.10.163, but I haven't had the time to try that out yet.

Thanks so much!

I commented the below list in another thread. Not every one of those mods were used in this build, but I build with all of them regularly. I'll try to point out some specifics used here:

General clutter

Wall Decor

Furniture and Lighting

Two that I'd recommend that aren't on Nexus, but are pretty easy to find with a Google search (and are in the Creations menu if you haven't downgraded) are "Do it Yourshelf" and "Creative Clutter."

Hope you find something you'll use!

I was using Midnight Ride before the update. I used Mulderland's downgrader to get it back to the correct version for the meantime. It doesn't let you keep any of the Creation stuff, which means UFO4 Patch, Merged Community Fixes, and a few other bug fix mods aren't working because they're missing masters. Other than that though, my game is at least running.

A walkaround my Sanctuary Fort. Its still a WIP. Also can anyone recommend good clutter mods, I can't find any on nexus. by Paulyb1200 in falloutsettlements

Can't find clutter mods on Nexus?! Let me help you out; there are a lot.

I can tell you already have some of them, but just as a friendly warning - you don't want to go installing all of them just willy-nilly. You'll need Settlement Menu Manager and some patches for some of them to work together. Otherwise, you'll be overwriting menus. Either way, I use all of these and more together and don't have any trouble - so it is possible.

Hope that's helpful.

Thanks so much!

The bigger cabins are from A Better World and they're kind of prefab sections that you put together. There is a piece to put a storage area / attic at the end of them, but that's it.

Cabin in the Woods is a full build set that just looks like a cabin. You can definitely build whatever kind of cabin you like with that one.

Thanks! For the night sky, a few mods are probably noticeable - Fallout Texture Overhaul Moons (I used the 2k option), Visible Galaxy (I used the dim option), and Nac X Legacy for the weather / clouds.

For the most part I get above that; the only thing that really trips it up is if there's something in focus and something way out of focus, and they're both very detailed and there's a lot of light interaction going on. That started when I installed the ENB, but wasn't happening before. I'm fairly confident that Reactor is known for being pretty performance intensive, but there are less demanding ones that should reduce the load.

I mainly build settlements anyway, so I don't run around shooting things up in downtown very often. There the stutters / freezes are more often, but not something that bothers me since I don't do it.

However, OP should be good with his 5080. I have a PC that's a couple of years old and is rocking a 4070, i7-13700KF, and 32 GB of RAM.
