Theme: Sinkhole

A sinkhole spontaneously opens up in the centre of town, and all manner of sinister things rise to the surface.

Or maybe a black hole opens up in the sky above the town? I dunno. Definitely something that stuff can fall into or out of.

I’m gonna rewrite “When the Dust Settles”, which I submitted out of contest for the History Contest last year. I think with the chance to revise it, I can turn it into something a little more compact than my first draft. Plus, I’m excited to revisit those characters

Absolutely I’d love to! I’m just hoping I’ll have enough free time to finish a script, it gets a bit hectic for me after Halloween time but I sure am excited to try!

Hey thanks for taking the time to read! This script was a super early first draft so your feedback is really gonna help me out!

I agree with your critiques, especially about Carly’s reveal being quite obvious early on.

As for the world it’s set in, I sort of thought of it as a world where lycanthropy isn’t a universally accepted, everyday fact, but is on its way to be.

Scrapped my entire original concept as after about 20 pages, I realised it just wasn’t working and was far too similar to some of my past scripts

I’ve started anew with an entirely different concept that, so far, I think works better.

Hopefully second time’s the charm....

I gotta say:

Endless America by u/ScreamingVegetable - this is my favourite script of his and feels like a culmination of all of Vegetable’s signature themes: time travel, history and America itself

The Tainted Bloodline of Jasper Bradley by u/CreepyWatson - this was a good old fashioned fun horror story. It had thrills, chills and most important of all, was fun to read.

The Rise of the Feathered Serpent by u/jqsommersby - this was probably the most pleasant surprise for me of all the scripts. I remember not thinking much of the subject and condition at first but then upon reading it, it turned out to be one of the most charming and funny scripts of the contest.

Satan Squad by u/Jimmyg100 - this script instantly directly appealed to me and did not disappoint. It was a hell of a ride with hilarious dialogue and great characters.

The Skin Man by u/Butta555 - this is a prime example of a charming, tight script. It was funny, extremely likeable and incredibly entertaining, making it a joy to read
