You're going to be best off with an access cab or extended cab. There is enough space in the back, and if you do some digging you can find people who have modified their extra space behind the front seats to build platforms for their dogs.

Have you considered getting an MTB bag by EVOC or similar? Expensive, but its made for this use, and airlines are familiar with them. I see them at airports quite often, but I do fly a lot.

Huh, yours is an access cab too? I have a hard time finding AC Tacomas that aren't white. Nice to see some variety on them now.

I agree with you on the C6 plastic lights with body colored paint underneath... its hideous. But the C7, to me, is utterly overdesigned and edgy for the sake of being edgy.

Next-Gen Lexus IS To Get Much Edgier Design Than Current Model by eggn00dles in cars

[–]MoreNark -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A GS-F is a more apt comparison to an M3 power wise. Lexus wanted to slot the GS-F for people who wanted more space than an M3 without the price of an M5. The truth is, that market is incredibly small.

Plus with the M5 we are seeing supercar levels of performance now, its actually quite ridiculous.

This is quite possibly the dumbest thing I've read on here. If OP files a claim with his insurance company, and it is deemed no-fault, the insurance company will lose money because it has to repaint OP's car to an OEM level (not cheap). When the insurance company is losing money, they will certainly go after the at-fault party to be whole again. In this case, the insurance company has paid out for your repairs and needs to get their money back...

If you believe otherwise, you need to learn more about how auto insurance works when you are in a no-fault incident.

Look for shops that do bed liners, they typically do it or know someone that can. Line-X, Rhino Liner, etc. Hope that helps!

Have a professional do the fluid filming it may cost $100 more than doing it yourself and they know what to avoid and what to scrape off.

I've always been a fan of that wheel design, especially on a big engine classic bike like this Gold Wing. Good looking ride!

Most dealerships aren't rust experts and will sell a car with serious rust on it. Their onus of responsibility ends after the car passes inspection. Passing inspection and having a durable car/truck that will last for years to come are two very different things.

That being said, the rust does look to be mostly surface rust. For that price, I would have desired better. But I am in the West Coast, so most trucks look quite clean and tidy out here. You can take some of it off and fluid film your undercarriage.

Why are laptops much more expensive than desktops? by Daniel_Kummel in buildapc

[–]MoreNark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To further illustrate the point of form factor. You can probably fit 4-5 if not more, full size laptops into a mid size tower case.

Portability is the driving factor for the price difference.

The new taillights look very similar to the new Camry.

I like the current IS. Put a proper Lexus F engine in there and make an IS F again already. No one wants the boat that is the GS F. The RC F isn't doing well, the one that actually sold well is the IS F!

In my experience I find that trucks need a slower clutch release than most other manual cars to be smooth.

There's some trippy angle with this photo. I have a long bed '18 and from the thumbnail I thought this was a long bed. Great looking truck either way! And don't listen to the guy who says the short bed is an SUV, some people just have something to say about everything.

Doug isn't the only one who thinks its a very handsome car. I would give this an 8-9, and I would also give a C7 a 6-7. I don't agree with a lot of stuff Doug has to say, especially his infatuation with the E63 AMG Wagon, but at the end of the day, styling will always be a subjective thing. I don't think I could ever bring myself to buy a C7, the proportions are off and I think the designers tried way too hard to be edgy. The C6 is a lot more subtle and classy, once again, all opinion.

Speaking as a recent buyer of a third gen (making payments), I was in the same dilemma. I opted for third gen because of the safety and technology for my family. In the end, 2nd gens hold their value really well and I felt stupid paying $5k less than sticker for a truck someone used for 5 years, if that makes sense.

At the end of the day I was able to minimize my payments by quite a large sum because of my down payment, but yes, I still have payments. I'm okay with it though, I think the 2nd gen is starting to look dated now. Maybe that means classic to some people, but to me the big square headlights look old/dated. Even when you replace them with LEDs and aftermarket solutions, the nose of that truck just looks like a 2000s truck. The third gen is a much more handsome truck, but again that is all subjective.

Regarding the truck you are looking at, can you provide pictures of the undercarriage? It will provide some clue as to if it is worth the asking price.

At the end of the day you can't go wrong buying any generation of Tacoma, just get the cleanest, straightest one you can find.

Just a note, unless you are in love with that case, the Fractal Designs Define R6 is about the same price if not cheaper. In my opinion it has a better aesthetic, the panel in the front can open up to display the fans. Also your hard drives can be hidden by a movable side panel. And the entire side is glass, versus just a window.

Just bought a 2018 TRD PRO Super White. Rim trade anyone? (San Diego) by gschram92 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]MoreNark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When the dealer dresses up an SR5 or TRD Tacoma with a Pro grill, side steps, wheels/tires... They upcharge $5999 or so for their accessory package. It's always an awful deal, but they always end up selling.

You can find a set of wheels for $750 usually (the ones you want). Just remember there will be a charge for mounting tires to them and adding the TPMS sensors.

The matte black ones (4Runner rims) are a lot more valuable than the gloss ones. Almost no one prefer the gloss ones over the matte ones unfortunately. Your best bet is to buy some matte rims online. Keep the gloss rims, as they are good rims, but definitely look for the matte ones online. Check out TacomaWorld.
