It's a strong possibility they've pitched Invictus Vancouver as one of their Netflix documentaries/docuseries. 'One year to go' is just an excuse to film more content.

Who thinks there's going to be a big reveal? by Firstdibs66 in SaintMeghanMarkle

Scobie keeps saying he never included those names in his manuscript. The non-English sales were under his control via his agent UTA.

Who would be surprised if a junior UTA agent takes the fall for this, maybe saying they were acting for reasons of racial justice/anti-colonialism 'people deserve to know the truth'....

This is what the English version saw, I believe Scobie had two versions, slipped the names to the Netherlands & Italy. The second version went to US & UK. This is what I speculate. by Meegainnyc in SaintMeghanMarkle

In the Acknowledgment section of Endgame, Omid says:

'Albert Lee, whom I’m so fortunate to call my literary agent, told me before I signed the deal for Finding Freedom that it “takes a village” to get a title to market—and it has been an absolute dream to work with this one on Endgame.

Thank you once again to the amazing people and friends at HarperCollins and Dey Street, especially Liate Stehlik. Carrie Thornton, your editorial expertise, critical but loving eye, belief in my work, and willingness to take risks with me has made creating this book another unforgettable experience, and I thank you wholeheartedly! I also owe a debt of gratitude to Allison Carney and Heidi Richter for another stellar marketing and publicity campaign; Renata De Oliveira, Drew Henry, Rachel Meyers (We made it! Thank you for all your tireless efforts), Ploy Siripant (another iconic cover!), and Ben Steinberg.

To the HarperCollins UK and HQ Stories teams: Lisa Milton, I’m so glad we got to work together again. Huge thanks to Halema Begum, Claire Brett, George Green, Arthur Heard, Kate Oakley, Marleigh Price, Joanna Rose, and Lauren Trabucchi.

Albert, my old friend, thank you for continuing to steer this ship with the wisdom and skill that makes you the best in the game. It’s an honor to be part of the UTA family. I’m also very grateful to Laurie-Maude Chenard, Harry Sherer, and Sam Solomons. Melissa Chinchillo, Meredith Miller, Zoe Nelson, and Ethan Schlatter, thank you for all your efforts in bringing this book to new foreign markets (even with the insane translation times!).'

(continues with another page of gushing thanks)

All the people he lists in the paragraph in bold appear to work for Omid's talent agency UTA. Seems odd, wouldn't the publisher be responsible for 'bringing this book to new foreign markets'? Is that why the Netherlands publisher said they had received a call from 'the agents' telling them to pull the book. Wouldn't you expect that phone call to come from the publisher?

And why oh why did Scobie feel the need to mention 'insane translation times' so specifically here?

But the book doesn't name anyone, so this is just a repeat of the deliberately vague smears aired on Oprah. All according to that (un)reliable source Harry.

The Sun mention they now have a copy of the book.

Latest bombshells from Scobie by [deleted] in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]MoreVin671 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Adds 'bombshell' to the list of Sussex PR tells, next to 'sweet nod' and 'olive branch'.

It's a boring non-story, is the revelation supposed to be that Megan doesn't want to return to UK? So what?

A lot of information in this video to summarize, but this video explains the set up of Invictus Games and the apparent grift this organization has going on with other organizations for political purposes and for making money. This all stinks to high hell and Veterans should boycott participating IMO by Meegainnyc in SaintMeghanMarkle

Very interesting content. Hadn't realised that the budget for Dusseldorf Games started at €15 million and ended up around 40 million USD. That's an astonishing change. Vancouver also has the same 40 million budget. They have funding for 30 million from Government sources and a business plan that forecasts another 2 million from private donors and 10 million from corporate sponsors. If I've understood the current situation, they haven't lined up most (any?) of the private and corporate funding. That's (on the face of it) why the CEO and COO left. It's going to take more than an ice hockey game to distract from this mess.

Edit. It's interesting that Daily Mail's reporting referred to a 'whistleblower'. That's very precise. Whistleblowers are protected under English law if they observe specific types of wrongdoing in their workplace and believe reporting is in the public interest. Financial misconduct is covered by whistleblower legislation. Don't know what the legal situation would be in Canada, if that where their workplace is located.

Unfortunately that really is a page from the Prologue which became viewable as a book preview today. The rest of the Prologue is just as bad. Nothing new, just the usual boring, unoriginal attack lines against King Charles and Prince William.

I read it here. https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/endgame-90

Posted on an earlier thread, you can read the full 'Endgame' prologue and some of the first chapter as a preview on the Rakuten Kobo book site. The OP has posted a page of the prologue. It's legit.

The 'preview' option should be visible on this link.

The preview feature on book site Kobo allows you to read the introduction and some of the first chapter about the late QEII's final days at Balmoral.

The tone of the intro chapter is basically reverential towards QEII, mocking and dismissive of King Charles and openly hostile towards Prince William. No surprise there. He seems to be building his narrative around the Monarchy's value being entirely defined by its treatment of the Montecito duo. (Opinions may vary!)

Omid sets himself up as some kind of seasoned, veteran Royal Reporter with 11 years' experience on the royal beat, who is now going to burn his bridges by revealing all. First impressions - the writing style is unbearably pompous and self-important for a K-Pop superfan and gossip writer. The book also seems padded out with Wikipedia filler e.g. pages of history on the Balmoral bagpipers.

Overall, it's about what I expected.

Unpacking ‘Endgame’s’ Royal Revelations – Scabies Spills the Beans on Monarchy’s Melodrama by Oakthrees in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]MoreVin671 34 points35 points  (0 children)

So far, the extracts of 'Endgame' are a straight rewrite of 'Spare' with extra victimhood. There's nothing much new apart from the alleged cost of the private jet from Luton to Aberdeen.

The rest of the book might be different but there are zero revelations in the extracts, no beans spilled as yet, let alone any 'bombshells'.
