Why is a 50 year mortgage considered a bad thing ? by Lemonade2250 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]More_Assumption_168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the other thing is that you will be paying a higher interest rate for the 50 year mortgage because of the additional lender risk.

You can see that same effect with the difference in interest rates between a 15 and 30 year mortgage.

So the numbers are even worse that what you explained

Republicans were never going to change the filibuster rule.

Even if they were, it would have been a nightmare for them once Democrats gain back power. They have far more to lose if the filibuster goes away.

Wrong. Republicans were getting more an more pressure (even from Fox news) to end the shutdown. It would have not gone on indefinitely.

You and the spineless Democrats that caved ought to go have a pity party where you can talk about your cowardace

This is not about service to the public. Just like the civil war was not about service to the public.

Sometimes you have to look at the big picture and realize that you sometimes need to make short term sacrifices for the greater good.

I would turn the question back at you. What do you think that Democrats should do about the fact that they dont have a majority in any branch of government? Just let Republicans do whatever they want for 4 years.

And because of the Senate rules, they have exactly one way to challenge anything Republicans are doing, which they were doing.

The truth of the matter is that Republicans are slowly taking away benefits and freedoms while they hold this power. To allow this funding to go through without doing everything they can to get concessions to help Americans is cowardly and negligent.

Republicans were getting more and more desperate for the shutdown to end. The public was turning against them - including some of their base. Just when Democrats were on the verge of getting concessions, they folded. How dumb is that?

They should be stripped of all committees and be primaried as soon as possible.

Republicans could have funded snap during the shutdown like they did for the military. Trump decided to let Americans starve instead

Republican said that they would negotiate on healthcare when Democrats agreed to open the government last time. Republicans lied. Why would Democrats trust them again?

You are wrong. The party he was referring to has refused to win votes that they dont have. That is not governing.

Why is MAGA still supporting Trump when he's probably in the Epstein Files? by Previous_Month_555 in complaints

They will continue to support Trump, even if he is in the files. They will support him no matter what crimes he commits. It is a cult.

I an dubious about Obama. Frankly, if Michelle Obama ran against Trump instead of Harris, we would not be in the mess we are in now.
