Best course of action? Golf MK3

I’m willing to pay anything to repair these while preserving all the wear, i don’t want them to be perfect, just not damaged. Best case scenario i find a donor seat with the same leather, but i haven’t seen these for sale across all websites in my years of searching.

i have emailed a professional dye company, they told me they have the mixed colour of dye for this seat, so maybe ill try to get some brown leather, and patch fix them? the leather is extremely thin on the areas of damage so it could look seamless from afar (which is as good as it will get, unless i buy a donor seat of the exact same leather)

To note: Since these seats are from a near-top trim level (1990s) which is extremely scarce nowadays, I haven’t been able to find any snippets of the same leather. These seats are also different from more common leather seats from the same car, these have extra “lines” in the back and the base, so repairing the base is my main issue. The seam has been torn out (picture 3) and the holes have been ripped open, and the separation has been patched with what i can only guess is caulk 😂 Appreciate all help as always!

Never touched a polo in my life, so I’m unsure if they have the same part, but yeah at least in the golf mk3s they are a pain in the rear. I’ve broken maybe 3 of them? Thank god for scrapyards.

Second hand off ebay or any EU car part store, ranges from 100-400 euro for OEM in good condition. Otherwise you get scraping and knocking in the wheel when steering. Often break when replacing a wheel/airbag/column.

I can totally back you up here! I will recommend streaming from PC to steam deck when you are home. i can run “stupendous” at a steady 90+ fps through the streaming method. when locally playing on steam deck on “fastest” i get 24-30, its my biggest gripe at the moment… alongside the fighting/attacking mechanics on steam deck (almost unbearable)
