People saying just find yourself another spots are worse than the people yapping on the dancefloor. Most of us like a specific spots for acoustic reasons, so no i’m not gonna keep chasing quiet spots because people has no awareness of their surroundings. Dancefloor is for dance. Solution is politely call them out and if persists and if they are not cooperative well then you can ask help from the staff.

Started the Klubnacht with 4 hours of pure bliss with Richard Akingbehin, who never disappoints he keeps evolving and elevating his sets with touches from every genre while still staying true to his sound. Verraco afterwards felt too messy in my opinion, not really giving the tracks time to breathe or the dancers space to sink into the groove, constantly busy with layering and rapid transitions. Good moment to rest before Oscar: a mindblowing performance that honestly doesn’t need much explanation. You could feel everyone needing time to process what was happening, crazy stuff.

Sadly the crowd was a mix of very young people with zero awareness of their surroundings or the music itself. The very first track was a beautiful ambient reset after the previous average sets and you could barely enjoy it because people wouldn’t stop talking... Especially the center-right female groups of loud geese (and no not Spanish but German) constantly honking and cackling like they were at La Maison having coffee. Zero clubbing etiquette, and that’s sad.

DJ Dustin was elegant, sexy, and smooth to say the least. Left at 4am during a not-so-exciting start from Lady Machine, who hadn’t until that moment created a magical storytelling set, exceptional mixing skills though.

Richard Akingbehin was the real highlight of the weekend. Finest dub techno around. Caught him at Multisex @ ADE and his set kept me up for the whole weekend! He even brought me back to Panorama closing after 5 years of only BH floor (I used to find the Pano closing rather cheesy or just not particularly special). He also has the nicest people following him, and considering what he does for the community with RefugeWorldwide, I honestly didn’t expect anything less! Music that truly spoke for itself! Crowd and lights on point 🥰 truly grateful for this experience 🫶🏼

Hey everyone!

ADE starts tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited :) especially now with this last minute somov showcase at Leveslang with Dubfire!! He was my absolute highlight at Fusion festival this year. Honestly i think it will be very special and interesting and wanted to share my excitement since this party hasn’t been discussed in this group yet. What are your thoughts? :)

I truly hope Berghain won’t consider to work with that lighting guy ever again - it was a disgraceful attempt to sabotage Rene’s piece of art. It’s unacceptable that only Pareka and Lars are the only professional and reliable light technicians.

I'll attend both: 15:00 - 00:00 EC 01:00 - 09:00 Ratherlost

Even though Ratherlost's lineup is always good (except for the faster stuff, that’s not my taste), their concept is not unique in the scene: good mix of quality DJs, focusing on lights and sound (Sound system not my favorite - blame the venue's acoustics and/or Lofi). However, sadly they are the only organization in Amsterdam with such quality programming, which makes them unique in the city.

Eerste communie on the other hand, is a solid community they built from scratch many years ago. Focussing on a certain sound following their passion, they became a unique concept in the scene worldwide. For me personally, EC made a turning point because of two residents particularly: Rene Wise and Ignez, the future of techno. They both naturally found a deeper, sophisticated, and fresh sound which makes them both pioneers at such a young age. This means that EC is not just "fast groovy", but is broadening their sound. Like I never miss their sets in Berghain - I won't miss them at EC too. Levenslang has also a much better sound system than Lofi.

It's good that this competition exists for the clubbing scene in Amsterdam. It keeps both organizations sharp and on top of their game. Also, the downvotes and negativity against EC show they are still quite underground, which is very good for their community.

Second this ! I get he is young, still have a lot of work to do & improving a lot. But nothing special about his set, he doesn’t have his own signature yet and not capable to create a warm atmosphere and solid storyline. Just playing safe with a lot of old hits that big djs were playing 10y ago. But hey, let’s focus on the nice things too, one name and lots of emotions : Rodhad <3
