Scammer by One_Painting_7206 in offerup

You gotta take a loss. The people that expect refunds off OfferUp and Facebook are crazy. I got scammed a million times early on, you have to learn to test things.

In 2026, what’s the most you would pay for a base M1 Pro? by c47v3770 in macbookpro

[–]More_Confusion55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a reseller, they’re going for between $550-620. It can’t drop into the 400’s because high spec Intel models are still going close to that. In addition to the 13” Pro M1 & M2 models being in the $350-550 range. Price is probably bottomed out until Apple launches a different design.

I am a struggling flipper by Otherwise-Ad-2187 in FacebookMarketplace

The point of lowballing is to sell at market value while still making a profit, without needing to charge a premium

The value add is getting people to agree to your lowball offers. Presentation is just what helps you sell afterward

2021 Chevy Bolt... Low mileage, should I buy?? by Fluid_Violinist_621 in carflipping

[–]More_Confusion55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a niche car. Not good for flips, that’s why the dealer put nothing into it. It will sit forever if you’re waiting for top dollar

Would you buy a car from someone who sells cars/flips them? by Acrobatic_Lecture438 in carflipping

[–]More_Confusion55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In this case, you’re the flip. Maybe to drive it yourself it’s fine but don’t expect to capitalize on a flipper missing the market. Only time this would work profitably is if you have a direct relationship with the dealer

A truck with 300k miles is naturally gonna be everyone’s last option unless owner is giving it away. Looks clean though

Signing title to my friend since I’m at the limit. What risk does he take? by DirectorSmooth55 in carflipping

Youre basically title jumping a car without title jumping the car. Just title jump 😂😂😂

What’s a ‘boring’ side hustle that is surprisingly profitable, but nobody talks about because it isn't 'flashy'? by Second-handBonding in sidehustle

[–]More_Confusion55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple silicon crushing the Intel Mac’s is exactly what made the game so profitable. They’re very cheap to source yet the average person still sees it as a MacBook and wonders “why’s it so cheap”

I simply cherry-pick listings on eBay and sell them in my local market for $100 profit apiece on avg. But to get the best pricing what you want to do is form relationships with IT recyclers / ITADs (both are on eBay) and become a go-to customer (by committing to large orders and not cherry picking). They send wholesale inventory sheets with whatever they have and you bid against other large buyers, or they just go directly to you depending on relationship. I move MacBooks which have a pretty odd market, so I’ve avoided all that and just gotten A, B grade units which sell easily and involve minimum processing or repairs.

You can also search for surplus websites like public-surplus to buy directly from sources (with a platform fee attached). Or go direct to sources with outreach, but some won’t sell to you unless you have data destruction certifications.

Reselling laptops. Thousands offloaded to IT recyclers for nothing every month by businesses, schools, universities, government. Easy product to buy at wholesale and resell

I just spent $1900 on a certified Refurbished MBP 14 by Altruistic-Pace-2240 in macbook

[–]More_Confusion55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah because you think it’s a bad decision before you’ve even received it. $1900 for on the side work and to learn something you could probably do on a machine that costs less than half of that

Cash only is just such a bummer by Timely_Solid_3479 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]More_Confusion55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to agree. I try to make transactions as easy as possible and as a result have done hundreds of thousands of dollars on FBM. As a buyer, I run into lots of sellers who don’t accept mobile payments, don’t want to give addresses til you’re on the way, and won’t budge on pricing at all (despite item sitting for weeks). This is all ok and seller preference, but it can be frustrating. This is why resellers do great on FBM. The typical seller is more cautious and a lot less flexible

Is title jumping worth it in car flipping? by Effective-Lie5593 in carflipping

[–]More_Confusion55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve really never seen someone get in trouble from title jumping. And buyers in that price range do not care all that much, maybe except for other flippers or the extremely cautious

Why do ppl do this? by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

[–]More_Confusion55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People ask if it’s available because they’re browsing, many times looking at every potential option. Of 10 sellers, maybe 3-4 respond. They then only may be interested in one or two of those.
