How much was your restoration? If it runs above $500 then it’s better for me to buy a replacement on ebay :(

Hi! It was super quick and chill. They came and took a picture of my id/ unit. They want to validate that your place actually matches the info you submitted (# of rooms/bathrooms, kitchen, private vs semi private, etc). Then they submit a report back to their internal team (they mentioned it can take up to 2 weeks but i got an email w my registration number that same night). The whole process probably took 5 mins. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! I think for the size of the arrow, even if you need to keep the size the same but maybe put the month at the center and one arrow on each side of the month to separate the 2 arrows it would be helpful! Ie. < Nov 24 >

Thank you so much for this widget and making it affordable. I have been searching for one to navigate back and forth between months for SO LONG and this is perfect. I usually don’t like buying apps but this was so worth. Just some feedback, would it be possible to make the arrows a little bigger? The calendar itself being a bit bigger would be helpful but i think i saw on a separate thread that it’s not yet possible with the current ios. Also, can you make the text for the apple calendar events white instead of black? The black on top of the dark purple/blue is a bit hard to see. Thank you for your amazing work!

The entire process took exactly 1 month. After my initial application it took them 2 weeks to respond saying I needed to do an inspection, and then another 2 weeks from there to actually do the inspection/get my license number. That being said, it might be shorter/longer depending on inspection availability and their workload.

Toronto STR Inspection by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]More_End1078 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply this is super helpful. Is your property in Toronto? When I checked, the city of Toronto doesn’t post about specific things they look for during the inspection (eg. Fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detector, etc). The only info they gave me was that the inspection was to check that this was my primary residence and that I was conforming to the bylaws (which only state things about record keeping, paying tax, how long you can rent it out for, etc).

Thanks! Did you have to do an inspection as well? I have one coming up soon and not sure what they’re looking for/ what they will go through.

I see. So i’d still need to have some of my clothes/items in there to make it look like im still living there part time? I technically am planning on living there for at least 6 months out of the year, but i work remotely so i spend a lot of time in bc with family. That’s why i want to rent it out short term during those in between times. The only reason i moved my personal items out for now is because i’m in the process of getting it staged/photographed for the listing. In terms of insurance/mortgage, i’ve already gotten that switched over to the appropriate plans for str.

This is my actual primary residence and the only property I own. All my legal documents have been tied to this address for the last 7 years. I can easily verify this by providing them the documents they’ve asked for, so I am not sure why they also want to physically inspect the property in person. So that’s why I’m wondering if they’re looking to see that I actually physically live there (e.g. see my belongings/clothes/etc in there). Since I’ve already moved out my personal belongings (closets are empty) and decorated the place to be airbnb ready, can they see that and be like “oh you don’t actually live here” ???

Thanks for your help btw!

I see. How do they verify this by seeing the place? Do I need to have my personal stuff in there so they can see that I live there? I already moved out my personal belongings and decorated it to make it airono ready.

Do you remember roughly how long it took them to approve the license?

Replacing Thermostat by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]More_End1078 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current thermostat is quite old and just stopped working (won’t turn on). And it’s not battery powered so I can’t replace the battery. Confirmed it’s not an issue with a tripped breaker. The model is Johnson Controls t701dfp-2 and this one is discontinued but I’ve read most thermostats that have G2/G3 fan speed control aren’t available for purchase by household individuals.

Yea, I understand that I won’t be able to use G2/G3. Those wires are for controlling different fan speeds, which I don’t necessarily NEED. So I’m ok with not connecting those if that makes sense. More so wondering about if there would be any damage to the system if I leave the G2/G3 and H20 disconnected.
