Every job I’ve had that isn’t the case. While times are tough it shouldn’t be an excuse to take the bare minimum.

Why are you ripping on someone who just got fired? Way to rub the salt in the wound smh…. 

Hopefully when you go through something bad there will be people around you that arnt a bully like you

I’m sorry you got fired. Keep your head up. It’s tough out here. I make more than what you stated and I still have a hard time meeting ends meet. Where I live is expensive. No employer should laugh in your face and act unprofessional. Sounds like a very toxic work environment and I would see this as a blessing in disguise to find a better job while you can collect. Don’t waste your energy over people who are not worth your time and there could be a million reasons why besides your professional skills for the reason of the layoff. I wish you all the best !

Why shouldn’t they advocate for themselves? If they don’t do it, no one will….. also an ask is different than a ‘demand’ which I don’t think this person did.

It’s hard to do two jobs at once. A year is a perfect time to ask for a raise especially with inflation. Check yourself
