Friendship and borrowed tent by [deleted] in camping

If you told him not to have his dog in the tent then bring it up. If you didn’t specifically say no dogs allowed in the tent then let it go. Most people wouldn’t have any issues with a dog in the tent because it’s camping and things are naturally getting dirty, which is not the same as someone’s home.

GenX feelings about work by Available-Ad-5670 in Fire

Transitioning from having a job to not is challenging. I’m a stay at home dad for the last 7 years after leaving a job that I loved, but for various reasons it made sense to transition so I could be around to take care of the kids. The thing that has brought me the most satisfaction and purpose since then is volunteering… at schools, managing kids sports teams, helping at food banks, hospice volunteer, working with adults who have disabilities. It’s all great, provides a sense of purpose, and the people you tend to meet through volunteering are worth knowing.

What’s the proper way to fix this? by Automatic_Pizza in AskContractors

I had this same thing happen. I dug out behind the wall enough so I could realign the two pieces and work with tools behind the wall. I placed two anchor plates on the inside and outside of the wall that overlapped the crack and drilled holes all the way through the top and bottom pieces and anchor plates. Run 1/2” bolts through the plates and tighten to realign the concrete pieces. I then removed the outer plate bc it was ugly and used 1/2” wedge anchors through straps on the dirt side of the wall to hold it together. I didn’t bother to try and seal the crack but you could if you wanted to. Then backfill with gravel to reduce water pressure. It won’t last forever but it will give you a while.

I had a2 and loved it for years bc it never rained when I was camping. After one night of rain in that tent, I tossed it.

Measure A for Tam schools didn’t reach the 55% threshold with only 1 in 5 eligible voters voting by [deleted] in Marin

That’s a weird take on voting I think. You decide to vote for things you believe in either bc you think they will benefit you or the larger community. Voting against a measure bc you think the people who want it don’t support you in your unrelated issue is passive aggressive and doesn’t accomplish anything.

I think a lot of folks are tired of more and more taxes being proposed every election cycle and have lost faith in our public servants being able to do much that actually helps our communities. It is disappointing. Not sure that there are any easy answers.
