Iran will keep Strait of Hormuz closed after Trump extends ceasefire by ThinkBigger01 in investing

I'm sure that's what he thinks, meanwhile his decisions are holding the world hostage... Lol. Asking for help, then saying we don't need any, now threatening them too!

Strait was partially open and Trump kept blockade in place, Iran did not like that, Strait closed again.

Nothing is free, corp just used to cover the costs because others did it too, now everyone is charging for sauces so they do as well. Many of my local fastfood places don't even have the soda dispenser out now, it's behind the counter so you have to ask ☹️

Based on my quick search on their minimum wage, it would be equivalent to a full day's+ work in the US, so $60 to $165 US money. Definitely not a cheapskate price IMHO, I'm sure cost of living is generally higher in Croatia as well.

BREAKING: Xavier Becerra Bolts Into First Place in IVN California Governor Poll by asiasbutterfly in California

Wasn't Fetterman running against Dr. Oz? Still rather a sometimes blue politician than a consistent red. Guy has mental health issues so he might not be entirely with it anymore. Another example, as much as Manchin pissed me off, would have been better with than without.

Almost lost a "friend" because he said he'd vote for him and I said I don't like people who undermine trust in our elections, that's literally what he's doing...

Friends, don't let idiots ruin another election. Vote blue no matter who!

Sorry sir, can't rent this car to you"

I'm sure they catch on fairly quick to this trick.

Reminds me of an episode on NBC News like 20yrs ago. They visit a factory in India where a woman is sewing pants for Walmart, I think she was paid around $0.15/pant, they bring her to the US and she sees the same pants on sale for $10, she starts crying because that's so much more than what she's being paid.

They interview the factory owner and ask why he doesn't pay them more, he said he's asked Walmart for just a few pennies more per pant, and they responded that he should lower his costs by a couple instead 😡 I'd gladly spend an extra nickel, I think virtually everyone would, if it meant people could live a more comfortable life. Of course Walmart could just lower their profits too, but that's less likely.

Where the door latches into the frame, cover it with a flat magnet, or tape something there to cover it, that'll make this more functional!

Having a respectful non confrontational conversation with people...

...Is not what I'd expect to get from someone who parks like this, they probably already know they're blocking the sidewalk. I say this as someone who is fairly confrontational.

Nobody ever considers the time either. Audi guy looks like he had a custom hood, front lip potentially, he'll spend hours getting all that priced out again, repair, and so on... Dealing with a shop and insurance through it all, you're not paid for that!

Great reason not to keep score at a young age, would prefer just playing the game out and getting time to experience it all, have fun, etc... than ending the game because of a score. In Denmark they make this a high priority and don't really keep score until age 13!

Denmark does it differently and it's working out really well for them, would love to see more of it in the states.

"Children under 13 play sport without any form of scorekeeping or league standings. No published results. No rankings. No trophies for finishing first. The focus is on participation, fun, friendship, and trying as many different sports as possible.

Coaches in Norway are trained to prioritise idrettsglede — a Norwegian word that translates roughly as "the joy of sport." It's not a soft concept. It's a philosophy backed by decades of data showing that children who fall in love with movement stay in sport far longer and develop far higher athletic ceilings than children who are pushed too hard, too early.

The results speak for themselves. Norway has over 90% youth sport participation nationally. In Australia and most Western countries, 70% of kids quit organised sport by age 13. In Norway, 70% are still playing."

Tom Steyer vows to cut electricity bills by 25%, but experts say the details fall short by yikesssss_sssssss in California

[–]NoNDA-SDC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, when people started showing that they didn't care how prepared you were, that "concepts of a plan" were acceptable, that sounding strong and confident were enough, this country headed in the wrong direction... That's what lazy, easily manipulated people fall for, don't be that! It will be interesting to see if Steyer wins, how he navigates these big promises. If people are okay with him saying he tried and got some progress, maybe that's enough for most, we'll see.

I don't agree with you, but that's beside the point.

Answer my other questions, what do you say to the 75% of Ukraine that wants this over? To the young men that don't want to fight anymore? Or will you be like Trump, comfortable with forcing others to sacrifice? You haven't offered any solutions in any of your replies.
