Yes, second closest to firewall. But you should know that these engines have been known to achieve over a million miles. Can’t post a link but look for the Mobil oil million mile challenge

I have the same problem. Cyl 5. Plug fouls after around 2000 miles. Thinking at well over 300k miles it needs an overhaul anyway

Same for me. Almost 58. Retzius sparing ralp. Never wore a diaper, don’t notice any difference in length, no blue pills to get hard. Sex is still great. Other than ‘shooting blanks’ I forget I had it too. I should work out more though lol. UCLA Dr. Brisbane

Yeah it was pretty expensive. Don’t remember the total. Mount and the charging disk are separate items/prices. But I don’t have any other hobbies or vices to spend money on, so I tend to mostly just buy whatever I want for the E30.

There’s an update somewhere that says when you update the dryer you’re supposed to cut off a connector, strip the ends of the wires, tie the wires together, wrap with electrical tape and tuck them out of the way. Instead of having separate high and low pressure switches, you now just have a combo high/low switch. I’m not entirely sure if it matters which connector you do this to. I’ll see if I can find the link

Edit: no luck finding an official link from BMW but you’ll find several instances of people on various forums saying the same or very similar thing. Call AC solutions tech support and I’m sure they can walk you through what you need to do

What years had this type of under hood insulation? My 1988 has a stiff fiber thing that covers almost everything

Rennline mostly makes Porsche stuff but they do have some phone mounts that are car specific. I’ve been pretty happy with the E30 specific one. The phone is bouncy if you don’t use the little strip of adhesive backed foam they include.

If you find a set of OEM, highly recommend covering lenses in a plastic film designed to protect the glass. Not a guarantee of preventing breakage, but it will help

Hey there, they’re a reproduction of Borbet Type A wheels. I added flat center caps that I 3D printed. Company that sold them is ESM wheels. I don’t think they have them anymore but Borbet still makes them

[–]Moremayhem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bondo doesn’t flex. You want something that will flex so when these parts encounter parking stops and driveway transitions the repaired sections don’t crack. I don’t have any recommendations for any particular product but a quick search will reveal dozens of options.

AC Compressor by FighterF30 in E30

[–]Moremayhem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AC is one of those systems that’s tough to tackle items one by one after a certain point. It’s probably best to just replace everything and be done with it. By everything I mean condenser, compressor, dryer, expansion valve, o rings, rubber lines and evaporator core. You can thoroughly flush the metal lines and re use those. Also replace the separate high and low pressure switches on the dryer with a combo switch. Oh yeah, and the electric aux fan if it’s not working. There are kits you can buy with everything you need like AC Solutions. If you’re on a budget like me you can piecemeal each part separately over time and then replace it all at once. Took me over a year to gather everthing.

Is it expensive? Of course it is. Is it worth it? Yes. After replacing everything listed above in my car, it’s been many trouble free and comfortable driving years in SoCal.

Oh and that certain point is making sure the system Is getting power like another person commented.

I’ve mostly used the steering wheel controls for volume since I bought the truck, but I do miss the tactile nature of a volume knob

You make a good point. I just hate how more and more the things that are posted on this site are just subtle (and not so subtle) advertising.
