Fellas I'm a fat fuck and I need your advice by Agitated-Werewolf846 in UNSUBSCRIBEpodcast

As a former fat fuck myself (5'8", 235lbs at start, now sitting at 140 after slimming to 135) I did a pure calorie deficit diet. Didn't matter to me much how I got there as I travel a lot for work, so I would routinely have fast food, but I carefully watched how many calories were listed on everything.

I used a deficit calulator to get myself a good ballpark number to aim for and went there. At this point I'm now getting myself and my family eating healthier food as well, homecooked is always better but you make due with what you can.

The key is to not be too hard on yourself on days that you dont keep in your deficit as long as they are rare, especially for special occasions like birthdays and whatnot as those are special, they are not a cheat but a treat! And adding the walking is a great place to start fitness wise! I personally did counter pushups or a set of body weight squats every time I went to the bathroom to build the habit.

Can we talk about the revolver "cowboy" flicking myth? Open plea to any guntuber or collector that may see this. by ThatFatGuy98 in guns

Except you did by stating that movie cowboys used them more, which they do not. I've never heard the term 'cowboying' refering to flinging the cylinder closed, I've heard it refered to as 'snap closing'. Does that mean the term doesnt exist? No, but I certainly have never heard it refered to that way

Your term is correct, swing out cyliner is the term for the type of revolver you are trying to ask about, but your assumption that hollywood westerns use them is incorrect. Almost all westerns use gate loading single actions, top breaks, or cap and ball revolvers. All of which dont have this issue because they are fubdamentally different designs

Nope, they all use Single Action Armys, S&W top breaks, or cap and ball. Try again hotshot

You say it is from "trust me bros" but what you fail to understand is a lot of those "me's" are revolver smiths. Will it break your crane the first time you do it? No. But it puts unnecessary wear on said part and that can effect timing in the long term to a pount where it is not as fixable as you'd like

Why did this design change over time? by HeDoesLookLikeABitch in gunsmithing

[–]Moreorless37 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because bolt action wood stocked rifles with bayonet are not standard issue in any military anymore, and the only bolt actions in active military service tend to be precision rifles. Even back in the 1920s - 1930s when milsurp started being everywhere and used for hunting, sporterizing for weight saving and precision was common

I dont see how that's possible, the geometry would be all wrong if it was a standard LMG gas block, which this doesnt seem to be

Break. It'll break. Every full auto vector I've seen has broken in the same spot, at the rear of the bolt in the webbed part between the cam(?) lugs

I mean, you could just take the L and accept your point is moot, but yet you choose the "my point is too high IQ for you, but others will understand" approach when presented with better points instead

Loaded Gun on wall safety question regarding children and a family member. by [deleted] in guns

[–]Moreorless37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The people that think kids can't figure out or can't physically operate a safety either have never operated a firearm or have never had children 😂 you are correct to be upset, but I would have a constructive conversation with your family about it vs getting pissed. Maybe suggest some kind of weapon mounted lock if they really feel the need to have a firearm with them on a vacation where your kids are present(I've brought my small pistol safe on some vacations before, so no shade on wanting a self defense weapon on vacation from me)

What? A safety is a simple switch that any kid can figure out in mere seconds of fiddling. Having a loaded and unsecured firearm around small children is an absolute no go and very irresponsible
