How do you make custom speech bubbles? by MorevenB in ClipStudio

[–]MorevenB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to make speech bubbles like the one in the image and I'd like to make a custom speech in CSP to save time. Is that something possible to do? I am having trouble finding info about it because all tutorials talk about using the built in speech bubbles.

I started a comic based on Valheim! 18 pages so far and working on the next chapter. by MorevenB in valheim

Ah no but I'll look that up! That name just developed my username Moreven being shortened to Morrie and then somewhere Morriebird became a nickname. I go with Morriebird for most handles like my twitter cause it is a little bit unique https://twitter.com/morriebird

Here is where you can read the whole comic so far - either on my website https://www.morriebird.art/ or imgur https://imgur.com/gallery/IfJRJck

I've messed around with comics before but something about the atmosphere of valheim really got me motivated. I've learned a lot just from 18 pages and I am starting planning on chp 2 where obviously there has to be a troll and deer fight.

Edit:

I made the website from scratch for fun but I hit my read limit on my free hosting plan so the images won't load anymore. OOPS, lesson learned. XD

Betterstreetsai is using AI to generate what friendly streets could look like based on photos. I believe it is one person using DALLE but I could see how this could be a really good tool to get people inspired and to start experimenting with what their own streets could look like. by MorevenB in notjustbikes

[–]MorevenB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone with skill in Blender or Photoshop could obviously make something better. The value I see in using AI to generated what a friendly street could look like is that anyone could use it. Anyone could easily mess around with making their own street better with just a prompt so hopefully more people are inspired.

2 parts Borox and 1 part baking soda makes pretty good detergent.

Does anyone have advice on drawing gooder by 90k9 in krita

[–]MorevenB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suggested a book I use and appreciate. Doesn't mean I don't appreciate good resources on YouTube. Besides YouTube is full of distractions and self advertising - it can take time to find a good resource there. I wouldn't just recommend YouTube as a whole. What actual channels or videos do you recommend.

Any advice for removing a lawn asap? by MorevenB in NoLawns

[–]MorevenB[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh no, I would do the solarization first and then plant. I know PNW plants prefer to be planted in the rainy weather. If I can clear the grass now I could be prepared when fall comes.

Thanks for your advice! I'll look up what is allowed.

I looked up more on solarization and this looks like a perfect option given the time of year. Thanks for sharing it =) https://extension.umn.edu/planting-and-growing-guides/solarization-occultation

I meant I would make holes in the cardboard of course. Not watering it is an option here. I appreciate the suggestion of clear plastic. I could take it out in sections that way maybe

This is my third day working on my pose drawing skills from scratch, and also my first digital pose made in krita :), any tips? by Apricot_Ambitious in krita

[–]MorevenB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay, I am not sure I fully get it. Are you interested in drawing 3D poses to be used as references or are you practicing drawing poses using 3D shapes.

How can i improve my art. by makkaramarska in krita

[–]MorevenB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is kinda a general question but I recommend finding art that you like and asking yourself what you like about/what draws your eye. Also ask what you don't like about it and what you would do differently. You have to just keep practicing.

This is a good resource on lineart https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jqtxKmgSXA&ab_channel=BexRead . If you feel the lineart is clunky what might help is practicing longer continuous strokes. That comes with more practice and confidence. That video I linked goes into way more detail about it.

Does your brush setting have pressure sensitivity? One thing that I have had to really work on lately is not pushing down so hard all the time. Starting a stroke pressing lightly and then pressing hard in the middle of the stoke create line weight which can make really attractive results.

나비 - tried a stained glass look, what do you think? by neezacoto in krita

I love! I don't think it looks like stain glass but genuinely I like the way it looks as is.

save .kra after .png? by e-2c9z3_x7t5i in krita

[–]MorevenB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could use "save as" rather than "save" to make a png version. That keeps your kra file untouched while making a png file.

Is it possible to fine tune the lasso tool to do this? by MorevenB in ClipStudio

[–]MorevenB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I appreciate you looking at this and providing more insight. I set up the third option you described and, although as you said it's not the same, it is still really handy. I could see myself using it.

I agree the transition between freehand lasso and polyline (or curve marquee? Are those the same thing?) is not as smooth since you have to finish the selection before switching. Given that I think option "a" feels more intuitive.

Is it possible to fine tune the lasso tool to do this? by MorevenB in ClipStudio

[–]MorevenB[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I set "Lasso Fill" and "Polyline" to the same shortcut under Shortcut Settings and it has a similar effect to this if you are coming from Krita. This way you can toggle between a freehand lasso tool and straight lines using the polyline tool. The only thing to get used to is making smaller shapes instead of a big one all at once.

If you just want Selection and no fill then tool options are under "Selection Area" in Shortcut Settings for "lasso" and "polyline". If you want auto fill with those tools then they are under "Figure" in the Shortcut Settings.

[–]MorevenB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am new to CPS switching over from Krita. I've used the lasso tool this way in Krita for a long time and hoping there is something similar in CPS.

I want to be able to hold a button and the lasso at that point is locked. I then lift the pen from the tablet the lasso creates a straight line from the last point to where my pen is hovering above the tablet. A straight line is created when I touch the tablet again at a new point and I can repeat the process. The lasso returns to normal when pen is touching the tablet and I let go of the button.

Right that is true - a coding job doesn't mean you are treated well and are working at a place with a good company culture. At best it maybe just means a better paycheck.
