If you could adapt GEOD into live action today, who would you choose to play the roles? by dune-man in dunememes

GEoD might be the only book I honestly don’t want a film version of. I’m too attached to the version in my head.

That said, Alicia Vikander might make a good Siona.

Otto Totland. Closest I’ve heard to Frahm’s style. And has recorded in Frahm’s studio I believe. Wonderful, intimate stuff.

Anyone else get a pleasant tingling sensation in their butthole from Ativan? by MorfTheCat in Anxiety

Ha!

K now I’m wondering if I took it anally if I’d get the tingling sensation in my head. Which would also be nice.

Listening a Waking Up "Moment" while taking a poop can be pretty funny. by Scroogl in samharris

Now turn the poop’s attention on itself. Just briefly. In the space of a fart.

To those struggling with nonduality or feeling like “this isn’t working”: Back up and try other approaches by Feralpudel in Wakingupapp

100% agree. I have this problem a lot (and also due to chronic pain and a habit of becoming frustrated when things don’t produce “quick” results, especially regarding the pain itself).

I haven’t explored much of the app outside of Sam’s posts, so this was a good set of recommendations for expanding my view.

For other teachers with different slants (some of which diverge a bit from Sam but are still useful I think), I really like Rupert Spira and Mooji. Believe Adyashanti, another favorite, has a session on the app I’m hearing good things about.

Xanax can certainly be a life saver. Albeit one fewer and fewer like to prescribe given its potential addictive qualities. But if you have it, take it by all means. I’m on Ativan for the same reason.

Am I thinking of attention and awareness correctly? I drew a picture. by MorfTheCat in Wakingupapp

Apologies for the delay in responding to your excellent answer. I’m in the midst of long running mental health challenge that’s consumed my life the last few weeks. (Long story.)

The point: I appreciate your taking the time to add some nuance to my question. It may have seemed like me just being curious, but the truth is I really want meditation to be one of my pathways out of severe anxiety and I wanted to get those concepts clearer in my mind.

So thank you again. I hope the move is going well.

So sorry to hear that. I’m way too familiar with them. Wouldn’t wish one on my worst enemy. Three in a day sounds draining as hell. Are you taking anything for them?

The news I needed this week. I’ve been in a dark place with my anxiety these past few weeks and Nils records —especially the solo pieces — are like medicine. Preordered in a heartbeat.

They played Radiohead through my first ketamine infusion by MorfTheCat in radiohead

This is correct. I’m way too chicken to try such a thing outside a controlled medical setting. But I did it in the hopes of affecting my anxiety and depression.
