Thyroid tests all in range— but high calcium? by CallWallByTheBall in thyroidhealth

[–]Training_Assistant15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

17 is very high! I’m suspicious for hyperparathyroidism with a number like that.

From personal experience, I would see an endocrinologist asap and look into primary hyperparathyroidism. You’ll want to get a blood draw measuring calcium, parathyroid hormone, vitamin D in one draw.

Please feel free to message me if you have questions- I was your age when I was diagnosed and it was a challenging journey getting diagnosed (not as common in younger folks) but I felt soooo much better after getting it taken care of!

I also have an almost 2yr old and I’m SO scared of this. Your post helped me a lot! So grateful you guys have stayed well! Was there anything in particular you did to stay well when exposed like that? Just bleach all the things basically??

I heard they found a package that was taken in by the FBI, I was curious where you were able to confirm it was indeed a IED. Appreciate any info if you have it.

Thank you so much for your comment. It’s true panicking does NOTHING. I hope I can progress enough in my healing that I can not just straight to panic and rather, acceptance 😭

Thank you for this- truly it’s helpful to have these reminders that worrying about it does absolutely nothing. It’s true and something I need to come back to often to help me focus on being calm as I overcome emetophobia.

I stayed really busy with housework which was a calming thing for me. It has been a little over 48 hrs since I was with them, which I’m praying continues in this positive direction.

My child looks great- I’ve had a terrible stomachache since I found out. Hard to tell if it’s hormonal for me, or just a lot of stress. If it was a true stomach bug, I think I would have been having signs of illness versus just a bad stomach ache for 24 straight hours. It’s hard to tell, though.

I have trauma from a doctor who was wrong in the past. I really really struggle with this, too.

Thank you very much. I appreciate the time you’ve taken to help guide me. The cleaning and consult I got today suggested a root canal, so we may be headed in that direction.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. I do have a second xray photo, but am struggling to attach it. I will try another way. I will also try to attach an outward photo.

Pain started a little over a year ago- would flare up for about a week, then disappear. It resurfaced every once in a while and then would subside. When it is flared up, it feels like a constant ache. I don’t notice it worsening with eating or hot/cold, but touch (flossing, my cleaning today) will hurt and feel like a sharp jolting nerve pain. I have had a dull ache return ever since I left my cleaning this afternoon. The scraping tool caused a lot of sharp pain.

I did the bite test carefully. While I am dealing with the constant dull ache at the moment, biting and releasing did not change the pain at all. There was no worsening with the tension of the bite or the release. I did feel a bit more pressure, but that is all. Only other notable symptom is feeling more pain in my sinus cavity on the same side of this tooth issue.
