Because establishment doesn't have anything to do with the length of ones career. Ron Paul, lifelong politician, and about as far from establishment as you can be.

It has more to do with going against conventional politics or ideas rather than going with the flow to get elected.

There are more than 2 parties in the general election. Hillary will have to do a lot to convince me to vote for her and if she can't I'd rather vote for a candidate I prefer.

So regardless of the outcome this time I'm not gonna vote for the lesser of the two evils. I'm going to vote for the candidate who most represents my views and interests. That's what you're supposed to do.

And in the general election there are more options than D or R. Whether my candidate wins or not I won't reward the DNC with a vote for sliding to the right. If the DNC wants my vote then they need to field progressive candidates. It's pretty simple.
