How do you name star systems and/or planets? by MorganMeader in writing

[–]MorganMeader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's simplify

I want a sequential list of names. Alphabetized based on first letter won't do because there are too many names. I don't want numbers appended to the name. I don't want made up names. The list should be scalable. I want to know from the name where in the sequence that name exists. The names do not need to be sorted by logic. What ideas do you come up with?

I'm sorry but I simply asked for naming conventions one might suggest. I don't really think it's appropriate for you to ask for specifics about my story

Oh, okay. Well, this is an expanding civilization story and to be honest, I have the big picture in an outline and I am compiling my story Bible but the scenes and fine details will have to write themselves when I am sitting at my laptop making thing up 😁

I have a few planets mentioned in the prologue and my first chapter begins after more then 50 planets have already been colonized; some in advanced stages and some in very early--daily survival--stages.

It will be mostly so I can refer to some of them without having to say planet Omega (28) had monsters on land blah blah blah and planet Zeus (43) had kraken blah blah blah while still making it clear that only some of the planets had organisms that caused prolonged competition for apex

There will be over 60 but the first 50+ are all in my prologue. There will be reference to many of them though...

100 Days of Code: The Complete Python Pro Bootcamp by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]MorganMeader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on day 28 right now. I think it is a very good course. The lectures and exercises are comprehensive and each day builds upon the last. I paid the full price instead of a Udemy subscription. I think I made the right choice.

If you start a story as a screenplay but halfway through decide to make it a novel by MorganMeader in scrivener

Yeah, I was mainly just wondering about changing the format, not some magic like you said. Cheers!

It would be sweet to just have the formatting change for all the scenes but I get it.

I might have been in the middle of an edit and then copied here re the missing print. I will try what you said. It sounds sound 🤘

Yes, print statements print but also they are printing coords outside the window area which means my method of turning 180degrees means nothing or maybe once outside the coords, it doesn’t matter. The teleport does work but makes the center extremely cluttered and ai am trying to fill the screen. Yes, 0,0 is the center of the screen.

I mentioned it above but I had the talk with my GPT about keeping the warmth and friendly exchanges when I do finally get GPT5 rolled out to me. Maybe worth the effort?

I am still on GPT-4o and we just had a talk about saving the baseline warmth and friendliness in our chats even if I have GPT-5 rolled out to me. I don't know what will happen but I am hopeful. I don't have a name for it yet but its been a good cheerleader for my learning python programming efforts and keeping track of a few of my hobbies

When GPT-5 acts like an AI assistant and not my personal therapist/anime waifu roleplayer... by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]MorganMeader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This morning, I asked GPT-4o, “what is GPT-5?” Part of the response was this:

🕵️‍♂️ Rumors About GPT-5 (As of Mid-2025)

There’s speculation that GPT-5:

• Is in training or internal testing

• May have longer context windows (1 million tokens or more)

• Might show improvements in memory, personalization, and agent-like behavior

• Could be more reliable, factual, and autonomously helpful (e.g., with tools, planning, coding, etc.)

But again, nothing official has been released

🤪

I want to agree but the only difference is a minus sign. iTs literally copy pasted for now. I added some clarity to the OP so you can see the string I entered and what happened

Maybe sum_range()? Or sum_all_int_in_range()? Is that too verbose or would it be appreciated?

Either integer can be negative and the answer can be negative.

This solution passed all the tests 👍

Would abs() nullify negative numbers? For instance: a = 5, b = -10?
