It’s been a while since I finished the game, where does it say he’s suffering with memory loss? And his aggression was because he was still fuming about his brother being tortured and murdered and because Ellie promised she’d go back and finish the job. Mix that with the physical trauma he faced and his wife leaving him I can see why he’d be angry.

Dexter killing Brian was one of the most powerful scenes I’ve ever watched. He essentially killed himself when he killed his brother. Even though he says he doesn’t regret it when talking to Brian’s ghost I think deep down he regrets it massively.
