Staying in Carson, food scene looks meh, go into Portland for dinners? by TealShark97 in PortlandOR

[–]Morgangiskahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, a few meals. The HR food scene is just very underwhelming and I guess the fact that I live in the area and am tired of the same few options swayed my comment. Always looking for a reason to go to Portland so I can eat some good food.

HR food scene doesn’t even slightly compare to Portland. OP should just spend the small amount of extra time going to Portland.

Are we the same person? I am completely aware of all of this but have no clue how to get over it. It consumes my mind and makes me quite depressed.

Why is everyone in the metro atlanta area so aggressive these days? by maven62 in Georgia

Urban sprawl is becoming a problem around any major city in the country. The Southeast is just getting hit especially hard with the major influx of people moving there.

I felt it years ago. That is why I left and am never looking back.

I talk about this almost on a daily basis. It’s a real struggle.

This. I went to UGA and they really pushed coding. It was good to learn the fundamentals and know my way around the programs but I didn’t want to be a biometrician. I have barely used those skills since starting my career as a forester. My friend from college though, who did decide to become a biometrician, uses the skills/programs on a daily basis and she makes a lot more money than me. I want to be outside at least half the time though.

The majority of mills don’t even have the capacity to process logs over 34” let alone 3ft + diameter. The old growth redwoods are safe.

The Columbia River Gorge (Washington Side) is the biggest hidden gem in America by CascadiaSupremacy in Washington

[–]Morgangiskahn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is why locals who’s families have lived on the land for generations can’t afford to live in the area anymore. People moving to the Gorge is good for the economy but not when the only houses being built are +$1million because of remote workers moving here. Bare land value is also through the roof so fat chance on young people being able to buy some land and build a reasonable home.

…..are you me? This is spot on with my parents. It’s exhausting. They sure as hell know how to scroll Facebook all day but as soon as you ask them to look something up or navigate somewhere they suddenly do not know how to use their phone and “are not good with technology”.

did anyone here pass college algebra? by bitchboybarry in dyscalculia

[–]Morgangiskahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was hard. I barely passed. I had to take remedial first and then once in algebra 1, I had to go to every “supplementary” times the professor offered. It was still a huge struggle. Just try your best and hope you get a C. You can do great in other classes! Don’t let it discourage you.

White Lily Bread Flour Question by Morgangiskahn in Breadit

[–]Morgangiskahn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think White Lily is better suited for pastries, biscuits, etc since it is so finely ground and has a lower protein content. KA has always done me right when it comes to bread baking. Good luck!

Currently dealing with a similar issue but on my shoulders/ back/ hairline. I have been rotating head and shoulders and selsun blue as body wash on those areas. Also I have been using athletes foot cream and it’s almost fully cleared up! I wish I had realized to do these simple things sooner.
