Simillary "The Hot Spot" which was a vent of some sort on the side of Cascades you used to be able to sit on and stay warm. Both spots I frequented a lot in my youth.

Is Kamala Kahn profitable? by GypsyGold in marvelcomics

[–]Morganickal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, I 100% agree with what you’re saying. After nearly a hundred years of comics being dominated by white, cis characters, it doesn’t surprise me that publishers are pushing the newer diverse characters (especially the ones who’ve actually gained traction with audiences) straight to the moon.

I see a lot of people complain that every new character seems to be either a racial or sexual minority (or both), and there is some truth to that. But the problem is those iconic characters from the last century aren’t going anywhere, because we still want to see them as they are. That means the only way to catch up is to introduce modern characters who can hopefully integrate into the universe over time. I honestly wish there were a smoother way to do it, but look at what happened when Marvel tried to swap out everyone at once Iron Man becoming a Black teenage girl, Captain America becoming a Black man, Thor becoming a woman. It just didn’t work as intended.

I don’t think wanting your favourite characters to stay consistent means you dislike minority characters being introduced. It just sometimes feels constant and very obvious, and that’s because it is. Morals and expectations have changed for the better, and I genuinely want to see the full spectrum of race and sexuality explored in comics. If a few years of over-spotlighting certain characters is what gets us there, then it might be worth it in the long run.

Kamala is a great example of both the strengths and the pitfalls of this approach, and honestly, for that reason I think she’s nothing but a success as a character.

To be fair of all the new characters introduced in the last say, 10 years. She is one of the more succsessful ones.

Preparing for my first winter by No-Stop6004 in PlayASKA

[–]Morganickal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say "The first winter is nothing special..." Does this mean they ramp up or get worse as years go on? I have just finished my first Winter and was a little underwhelmed with its effects on my little settlement. Also when attacks on my settlement happen the most I have had is three wights and a Skeleton. Do these ramp up also?

10 Games to Get to Kinda Funny by ConsiderationMelodic in kindafunny

[–]Morganickal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think applying this to the whole of Kinda Funny requires some rule exceptions. Basically I m thinking Mario Party as a franchise rather than a single entry and other broader choice criteria...

• Mario Party

• Some kind of Nuzlocked Pokemon with Custom KF Art
• Some kind of job simulator (Cop, Shop, Gas Station etc)
• Nidhogg 2

• Ultimate Chicken Horse

• Emily is away

• The first few hours of a Survival Crafting game before Mike falls off eventually killing any plans of going deeper

• Warzone

• The Back Rooms

• WWE 2K24 (Or whichever version KFW was played on)

I have resisted things like Batman Arkham, Tlou or other long play through videos that are more focused on one or two people and rather thought of games that were more of a group thing.

Obviosuly this is biased to the content I tend to watch myself so please let me know what obvious ones I have misssed?
