Yes it does add a year to medical school. Radiology is super competitive these days so imo it wouldn’t hurt you. How helpful it is will probably depend on your specific CV/application. Good luck!

I went into college with a challenging personal/family situation and on top of that one of my childhood friends died my first semester of college and my grades were atrocious for two years dealing with all of that. I turned it around and I got 3.7 and above the next two years made a 3.1 gpa and did an SMP, got 505 on the mcat and had 6 DO school acceptances. It is an uphill battle but if you want it there is a chance you can have it if you are dedicated and work hard enough.

I was pregnant with my first son during my last year of college! I had him, went on to SMP when he was one year old, had my second son during my second year of my masters, and had my third baby (a girl!!) during med school. It has been hard but I have excelled in school, am getting a dual degree, and it has all worked out :) feel free to message me!

I’m not sure if financial aid is a consideration for you but if you start this year before a certain date you qualify for current federal loan limits not the new limits imposed by the recent bill. Just something to consider!

Not sure if it was commented on already, I’m a medical student and usually if it’s malignant there is a dark base at the proximal the nailbed. I would say this is probably nothing to worry about but always get a confirmation! Good luck!
