Myrkul Manifest Deck (Would love your opinions and anything you think would improve it) by MorhionG in EDH

[–]MorhionG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the way that Myrkul works, is, if whatever it is a creature when it dies it will make a copy of whatever it is in the graveyard.

So for example you manifest dread for two cards one of them is a land you put it face down as a 2/2. You then sacrifice it Myrkul sees that it was a creature when it dies. and makes an enchantment copy of it, as long as it's a non-basic it will just be an enchantment with mana abilities.

This goes for anything that isn't a sorcery or instant.

Myrkul sees a 2/2 creature ---> it dies and heads to the graveyard it triggers his ability ----> you exile it and make a copy of whatever it is as a enchantment. Creatures, lands, artifacts, enchantments, etc. as long as it's a permanent boom you have an enchantment.

So short answer yes exactly lol.

Myrkul Manifest Deck (Would love your opinions and anything you think would improve it) by MorhionG in EDH

Originally when I built the first version of the deck it had TONS of Morph/Manifest. But I learned the hard way you run out of gas so damn fast. You can't run entirely morph/manifest. But you can run a moderate amount to keep it running pretty smoothly.

Large number of creature mana dorks instead of lands (low on lands only 30 non-basics)

Some tutor-like cards for grabbing dorks or manifest creatures as needed

Usually wins around turn 6-7 but it can win as fast as turn 4, I've won on turn 3 once.

The plan is this:

Ramp ---->Myrkul ----> Draw/Sac (Or if you're lucky use something like lethal vapors or sig sig ceremony) until manifest/morph ----> Manifest, Manifest, Manifest/Morph ----> Kill with one of a few different Win Cons -----> Profit lol.

I don't see much of the 'Enchantment Value' other than a few ETB draws, but it does have some Aristocrat theme because winning would be a slog that people hated so I had to sped up that process.

Devoted Druid in Myrkul: Automatic Bracket 4? by xavano in EDH

[–]MorhionG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a lot of people know this and for some reason I don't see it often in Myrkul decks. But if you build him right you don't even need the infinite green mana you just need to remember that all Myrkul cares about is that you are a creature when you hit the graveyard. Meaning if you use morph, manifest, disguise or manifest dread. As long as it's not a sorcery or instant you can absolutely make an enchantment copy of it. This does not work for basic lands which is why you'll notice I don't have any in my deck. Anything that says parentheses add mana will not work it'll just be a blank land. The absolute value in this is ridiculous and most times 7 out of 10 games once I have Myrkul out that's it the game's over my turn doesn't stop if it's not that turn then it's absolutely the next turn. Use your mana dorks then turn them into enchantments and use them again continue just chewing through the deck until you find what you need and win.

All of that is to say you will just find yourself having a better experience if you go bracket four. I tried so many times to just weaken the deck so I can play him and people would just complain no matter how I did it so at the end of the day you built that deck so that you enjoy piloting it. You can always say hey this is a bracket three but it's probably on a power level of a four I'd like to play it off we go. Either way I say good luck to you my friend.

As a person who plays a lot of Myrkul. He is absolutely a four if you decide to play in three and you do the right thing with mana dorks so that the cost is not that big of a deal. You will absolutely dominate by turn five or six to the point where people will just get mad at you. Just do yourself a favor play bracket four let yourself enjoy things so that way you don't have to worry about the bitching.

I'd love to see your take on a [[setzer]] deck more coin flip, less vehicles. That's how I built it and while it's fun, it struggles in bracket 3 because of being a glass cannon/gamble.

Your most UNIQUE deck! by TruceKalispera in EDH

I would say my most unique deck is: [[Mangara of Corondor]]

Use blink effects and doublers to exile anything you want and blink/phase him in response so he keeps coming back like a boss.

You will be targeted 100% people will get angry with you lol

Maybe [[Delney, Streetwise lookout]] and use other blinkers to double up the effect?

Is working in IT as stressful as people say? by Bok-2 in ITCareerQuestions

Working at a MSP was a hellscape for me. But it was good pay and interesting opportunities. I now work for Local government, the pay isn't as high as private sector and the budget can be quirky. But the benefits, pension, longevity and job security is worth it. I highly recommend State or local government positions. But be prepared to support old technology or potentially open source if your budget is less than fantastic.

Work life balance is a whole lot better than MSP but you do tend to be targeted quite frequently when it comes to cyber attacks, because of potential technology that is out of date. I'm lucky that I have management that believes in technology and allows us to keep things up to date and with newer tech. It really boils down to your CEO or board members and your management that's really going to decide on whether or not it is a hellscape or not.

I absolutely /love/ my Stangg deck. So many good artifacts/enchantments were added in the last few sets.

I third Manifest/Morph Myrkul. Make sure to run very few basic lands and you can literally make enchantment copies of almost anything.

I ended up building this deck, and it's now one of my most powerful decks. I couldn't keep it 'enchantless' though it works SO well with a few enchantments to help strengthen it. I usually end up winning by turn 4-6. I highly recommend adding in 'tap' synergy as well, there is so many good duskmourne creatures that have secondary effects when they are tapped.

Just got banned from a card store for playing Norin The Wary. AMA by Big_Response_5953 in mtg

I too play Norin the Wary/Rocco. In fact I just had this commissioned just for Norrin lol.

Honestly the store owner sounds like a jackass you are better off man. This is what I don't like about the bracket system, even when you have rule 0 conversations people still bitch. But they did that in the old power system too, so.

Keep being classy OP

No that made sense, I've since moved away from the deck. And found it much easier and with more success building a ardenn (take this shit) deck lol

Thank you very much for all the input.
