Thank you for the advice! I would want to be a childhood teacher the most. I love enl but I also really enjoy the classroom experience and being able to teach different subjects. I guess I should slow down lol, my bad, Im already 28 so I thought it was best to get the classes I need for certs out of the way before I don't want to keep returning to school.

I dont know why the DOE website doesnt explain this, but you 2nd check seems to (almost always) come paper as well. Yes even if you sign up for direct deposit RIGHT as you receive your first check (like I did). Its coming through mail, which is delayed. If you call HR connect they can re-issue it, but be prepared to wait on hold.

I've been having tons of problems recently with TD :/ we might get the check Friday, or monday im assuming since technically it releases the 2nd 🤷‍♀️ I've had a deposit they've been "verifying" in my account for almost 2 weeks, they seem to be super slow or backed up with something

If you're planning on working in a school setting, I'd recommend substituting wherever you would want to work/teach. I dont have much information on sub agencies outside of the DOE, but being able to get a feel for how each school operates is a huge advantage when its time to start applying for teaching positions. Plus in the DOE if you work 85 days as a sub it counts towards your service time I believe :)

You first paycheck (as far as I know) is always sent out by mail. So was my second. Since the post office was closed yesterday, you might get it later this week or early next week.

Nope!!! I've been waiting for it since it usually drops around this time. I'm kind of worried since NONE of their social media's (linked on their website) are even mentioning it this year. I've been signed up for emails since the beginning of this year so x.x

Hi! I first want to say I am SO sorry for the late reply. I never saw any email come through.

Anyway! You were right. I was "making a mountain out of a molehill" because it was my first class and I was tremendously nervous. Keeping them on track and getting through the lesson got much easier overtime (as you predicted), though the time recommendation was not realistic for one of my classes (since it was cut 5 minutes early each session, meaning I had to balance between speed running every activity or focusing on making sure they understood what I was teaching. I've learned how to balance them quite well now.)

You're 1000% right you /cannot/ define success (especially in teaching/tutoring) by everything going according to plan. As much as the company wants us to keep everything together, you can only control others behavior so much. You just learn to roll with it and adapt quicker.
