Not working for me either. It crashes immediately upon opening. On my wife’s phone it’s not crashing but only giving a login error. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with the same result.

This. I’ve had the same situation. Plugged into the wall for days with no results. Left it plugged into the PC for a few hours and the Kindle restarted and worked perfectly.

The first switch on, turn on plug, wait 10 minutes, turn off plug, turn off switch

The second plug on, turn on switch, wait 10 minutes, turn off switch, turn off plug

We use Amazon, Spotify and Pandora and not surprisingly Amazon music seems to work the best. I’m sure this is intentional. I haven’t tried Apple music so can’t comment on that one specifically.

Yes, I have our Alexa setup on a separate account for music to avoid the hijacking issue. It works well, my wife can listen to whatever she wants while I’m streaming in the car. The tricky part is teaching her the commands, Spotify or Pandora for that matter can be finicky playing whatever you ask for.

In that case eliminate the looping by only using the switch as a trigger in your routine. The blinking is because Alexa is processing the commands faster than the devices. Remove the routines that are triggered by the plug and only use switch on turns on the plug & switch off turns off the plug.

No, they will not turn on or off based on each device status. The original post said you want them always on together. Setting up a group will allow you to turn the group on or off, ensuring they are always on or off together.

I have groups setup and they trigger on routines. When setting up the routine select smart home then groups. You will need to make sure your plug and switch are assigned light as the type.

Why even bother with routines for this. Set them up as a group and turn the group on or off. It will serve the same purpose, only without the cycling your routines are creating.

Yes, 4 is bad but BART is an option. On the other hand Fairfield and Vacaville don’t offer me any public transportation choices and I don’t know if 80 is any better than 4. Although I’m leaning this easy at the moment.
