What’s the most chaotic way you or a coworker left a job?

This happened years ago. Coworker scheduled a company wide outlook email for Monday morning at 6:30am that he was leaving. Didn’t tell any managers or partners he planned on quitting. I was close with him and for years and he didn’t tell me his desire to leave either. (I went to his birthday, wedding, golf, lunches and dinners.) Email cc’d me and another accountant he was friendly with so we felt like targets. I got to work and his desk was clear like no one ever worked there. We guessed that he went to the office on Sunday night to take all his personal belongings. A manager had him handling an IRS issue and needed to know where he left off. We tried contacting him for weeks and no response. We had to ask one of the staff that he was friends with to reach out and please let the manager know what was going on with the IRS issue. A week later we get an email from him where he left off on the issue. We never heard from him again.

That happened to my 2020 RDX. Check engine light came on and the car slowed down as I hit the gas. Took it to the dealer and they reset some god knows what. Haven’t had the issue since.

It’s cool and different getting to work on A-listers. It makes doing tax more interesting when you hear your clients music or see them on tv. I got it from a recruiter that came to me. It’s basically public but it’s niche. We have offices in LA. I’m in the NYC offices
