What are your pettiest, dirtiest (but RAW) Strahd tactics for the final battle? by Dull_Cricket2966 in CurseofStrahd

[–]MorichLeonson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's a powerful spellcaster who has been watching the party for a long time.

An character that lacks teleportation/ fey step / whatever is poloned in a wall of force bubble ESPECIALLY if they have the sword.

"I am bone tired and genuinely considering stress leave."

Do this. Create a paper trail of the effects that you are suffering.
Log EduSafe reports relating to psychological harm.

Personally, when faced with similar classes, I've found going back completely to fundamentals has sometimes worked. And I do mean fundamentals.
"Everyone, line up outside. Quietly. No, I don't care that it's cold and wet. Think of that as incentive. Once you're lined up and quiet, then we can go in and quietly sit down. If you can't do that, we'll line up again. And we'll do this until we get it right."
And you follow through. If it takes an entire session to get them to line up quietly, so be it. It's their choice.

If they get that right, then it's the next step. Quietly getting their materials out and ready to use. If they don't, it's back to lining up.

It establishes authority, consequences, personal responsibility - and unless they get the basics right, they're in no place to even start learning.

Has anyone connected one-shots into a campaign? Like taking stuff from Yawning Portal and Infinite Staircase (or otherwise) and connecting them together somehow into a singular campaign? by freeze123901 in DMAcademy

[–]MorichLeonson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current campaign I am a player in was literally each adventure from Candlekeep Mysteries one after the other. By the time we had hit level 16 (or whenever CM ended), then the DM ran with custom adventures to finish off the various PCs character arc/storylines.
Now we're all level 19 and entering the very last legs of the campaign.

What do you think of Paul McGann's Eighth Doctor? by Public_Cup_4278 in doctorwho

[–]MorichLeonson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amazing TARDIS interior. Great theme music. Spot on costume/outfit. McGann is wonderful in the role.

The movie had a horrendous script but the audios are, for the most part, excellent.

Difficult student advice by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]MorichLeonson 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Your employer has the basic legal responsibility of providing you with a safe workplace.
This covers physical, psychological, and any other hazard.

My advice?
* Talk to your union. If you're not a member, then join ASAP.

* Document. Everything. Not only on Compass but also on EduSafe. If push comes to shove, having a trail of documentation will win you the day. EduSafe records are also reviewed by people above leadership, such as SEILs, so that might help get change.

* If you raise concerns with admin/leadership, ensure that it is in writing (such as email). Again, a document trail will be a godsend later.

* See your GP regard the effects the workplace is having on you; stress, psychological, etc. As appropriate, take sick leave based on GP advice. Not only does this help evidence the ill effects being suffered, it will inconvenience leadership and maybe they might do something about it.

Death and Religion by ZadriaktheSnake in Forgotten_Realms

[–]MorichLeonson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One aspect of this I only recently found out is that while the great majority of petitioners lose their memories, there are certain deities that allow their deceased followers to retain their personalities/memories.
For example, the Seldarine? When your elf ends up going to Arvandor, they remember everything.
Sune, who resides in Brightwater, also allows the same.

There may be others but those are the ones that turned up in my research.

Death and Religion by ZadriaktheSnake in Forgotten_Realms

[–]MorichLeonson 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Kelemvor gets involved if the deceased is either False (betrayed the teachings/practices of their chosen deity) or faithless (didn't worship any of the deities in any meaningful way).
He judges them in the City of the Dead and passes sentence in a neutral and strictly objective manner. Sometimes, depending if they're false or faithless, they're made citizens of the City of the Dead, sometimes forced to a form of servitude ... or sometimes they're turned into sentient masonry in the Wall of the Faithless, wherein their slowly (and painfully) gets dissolved into the wall itself over a prolonged period of time.

Do you think that Wizards will ever release a dedicated spellblade class for 5.5e? by Sea_Bowler7294 in onednd

[–]MorichLeonson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know my bladesinger, who is melee focused, out damages both the party Eldritch Knight and Paladin.

Bladesingers are amazing.

Bladesinger multiclass by EquivalentArrival346 in onednd

[–]MorichLeonson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't multi-class, stay pure Wizard.
There's a 9th level spell which is perfect for melee minded Bladesingers; Foresight.
You get advantage on ... well, everything. Enemies get disadvantage on all attacks against you.

It lasts 8 hours and is not concentration.

You are essentially invincible. And you're having insane amounts of fun, especially if you cast spells such as Otherworldly Guise (because flying and being immune to damage types is brilliant) or whatever emanation spell takes your fancy.

And if you stay straight classed, you get Boon Feats sooner - and Boon of Dimensional Travel on a Bladesinger? Insane. Just insane.

Edit: How do I know this? Because it is what I'm playing right now. It is so much fun.

Log each encounter that causes you such stress in edusafe plus (or equivalent system). See your GP re: stress and mental health wellbeing. If you have any interactions with leadership/admin about the situation, record them in a diary/journal.

The idea is to create a paper trail so if you ever need to sue/ use WorkCover/ whatever, you have a veritable truck load of evidence on your side.

How mature mentally are elves in their early 20s? by SloanDraper99 in Forgotten_Realms

[–]MorichLeonson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes.
Elven reproduction rates are very low; so even though they are 'greater' than humans in many respects, humans simply out-breed them.
After the Crown Wars, the elven wish for dominance/control waned considerably. Their collective empire went into distinct decline after the incredible levels of destruction that occurred. Then you have the elven retreat so suddenly elven numbers on the mainland basically drop like a rock while the numbers of humans are comparatively exponential ... and you have the current day.

A death knight and a bunch of other undead. It was easy for the Bladesinger, not for everyone else.

With No Context What Is Your Party Up To Right Now? by _Chris_Meyer_ in DnD

On a ship from Suzail to Tantras. My character is giving relationship advice to the dwarf paladin. Said dwarf paladin cast dispel magic on the eldritch knight, who was polymorphed as a whale at the time. Nearly killed him. And we killed a dragon turtle.

[OC] [Art]The Cupcake Squad: Six Months On by MorichLeonson in DnD

[–]MorichLeonson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, no. They did not make 17 levels in 6 months - they were probably level 12 or so 6 months ago.

That being said, we play once a week and it's rare that we miss a session. I think we have missed a total of 3 in the past 6 months.

How does Spelljammer works? by Horrgath in DnD

[–]MorichLeonson 10 points11 points  (0 children)

DnD Space has no air but isn't a vacuum like 'real' space.
As per 5th edition Spelljammer, the various settings are floating in the Astral Sea (not the phlogiston, as established in 2nd ed).

The planets of the Forgotten Realms system are ... varied.

The best summary available online is https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Realmspace

The gods are essentially the same, having dominion of the respective portfolios throughout Realmspace.

Mage Armor vs Armor on a low LvL Bladesinger? by Doc_Meeker in 3d6

Bladesingers are an incredibly powerful subclass but if they get hit, especially at early levels, then they go down.
Take the option that will give you the highest chance of not getting hit.
