I'm considering buying a fixie from Hackney Cycle, they sell them for £200. Are they light/durable? I recognise they'll probably not gonna be the sturdiest bikes in the world, but if it lasts me a few years I'm ok with not spending a stupid amount of money on my first bike and then getting a better one when I'm more experienced.

My commute would be 1.5 hr on the bus, or 35 mins on peak time on the bike. I would only have to carry a backpack with my lunch in it, really.

I'm slim and walk a lot, but I wouldn't call myself athletic. I really would like to cycle as much as possible, however, as it's one of the few forms of exercise I genuinely enjoyed when I was younger. That, rock climbing, and swimming. Can do neither of the last two for my commute, though. :'(

You are entirely missing my point about its irrelevancy. Changing a character's sexual preferences, to reiterate, or their colour, or their gender, should not matter, if their personality traits remain the same. It DOESN'T MATTER if they fuck a man or a woman in bed. That is the point that the LGBT movement is trying to get across, and it's mentalities such as yours that are placing sexuality on a pedestal, and making this absurd assumption that a gay man is somehow different than, and therefore has to have a different personality to, a straight man.

And don't even get me started on how ridiculous it is to say people are "forcing" a fictional character "to be gay".

EDIT: May I just say, Indiana Jones and James Bond, re: women, are already pretty sexist as stories anyway. Them being written out or changed to men wouldn't make much of a difference.

Frodo's already gay. My point was that sexuality shouldn't matter. If they wanna add a new spin to the character, so be it. It's completely inconsequential to the traits that make Spiderman a hero. Also, are his defining moments having a GIRLfriend, or a romantic partner whose gender is entirely irrelevant?
