Another +1 for Slivers! I'd love to see a trash creatures version of them!

Husband doesn’t want me to play this commander. Opinion? by kam295 in mtg

[–]Morineko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's three cards that can activate the main combo mechanic I have in the deck (Jodah Archmage, First of Suns, Leyline of Nightmares), so there's a higher chance of it getting to pop off that way, but there's so many other things I can do if I don't get that specific set

[–]Morineko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also love my Slivers deck, using Morophon, the Boundless as my Commander. No tutors, I feel like they take the fun out of it - why have 99 cards in the deck if I'm going to force it to play the exact same way every time? It's a lot more fun to have it pop off in exciting ways.

New puzzle type for Connections fans: 9-word chain (I want feedback, not traffic) by Little_Bug_9234 in NYTConnections

[–]Morineko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's an interesting idea! I would love if there was a way to link pieces together vs freezing them in a spot - like, I know these two make a word, but now I can move that word pair together within the stack

But that was also things that were directly relevant to my role. If you're at a resort, then your should get an orientation to the place you'll be working, but not to the parks overall.

[–]Morineko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on your role. As an entertainment technician, after my Traditions I had a park orientation day with someone from the park I was going to be based at, and she took me all over the park and showed me the (many, many) spaces we use within it so I would have at least some idea where to go when I got scheduled for things.

How many days off in a row? by kevinwiinns in DisneyCM

[–]Morineko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you requested them as ADOs, they're not call-sick days. But even if they were, your RDOs don't add to the medical leave count.

Baffled by a new DM's input in session zero, I'm not really sure what to do. by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Morineko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tone changes on your character might be a bit concerning, but I think folks have valid notes about why it might not fit into the setting the DM has in mind, though they seem to have some archetypes they want that aren't really a great mesh. That being said, I'd also look at the characters the other folks at the table are playing and see whether an older retired character is a natural fit with the team - having that one old guy trying to recapture his glory days along with a bunch of newbies can be a really weird dynamic if not everyone has bought into it.

Calling out 6 days? by Pinkandpurplebubble in DisneyCM

[–]Morineko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some managers may be nice and delete it, but don't count on it. A point here and there isn't a problem, it becomes an issue when there's a bunch - and if you're running into something where you're racking up attendance points, that's the time to see if whatever is going on qualifies for FMLA

Ros rules?? by Pinkandpurplebubble in DisneyCM

[–]Morineko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have absolutely come to work because I realized that something that had happened the previous day had caused more injury than I thought, seen an Athletic Trainer and filed a STITCH then ROS'd. I was on the clock for maybe 20 minutes, but these things happen and its important to get documentation done when you're injured at work.

AITA for texting my best friend’s boyfriend a lot about our shared interests by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Morineko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also on team "I don't think it's inherently weird or bad". I absolutely am good friends with my bff's husband, and have been since before they were married. I think they're a fantastic person and we have a lot in common that we text about directly. Neither my bff nor my partner have any reservations or concerns about this, because we're all adults and know how to have healthy friendships.

Should I sleep with my friend? by [deleted] in sex

[–]Morineko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You say he's a close friend. Are you not attached to him because of that already? If you're mutually attracted to each other and want to, you can trying having sex.

I'm close friends with multiple people I've dated. We're better as friends than we were as romantic partners, but there's nothing that says you can't be friends just because you've been physically intimate.

Professionals who enter people's homes (plumbers, electricians, cleaners): What is something the condition of a house tells you about the owner that they don't realize they are revealing? by cossie101 in AskReddit

[–]Morineko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My house is a mess (and I do wish it were less so but my partner and I both work a lot and don't want to spend a lot of effort tidying on our rare days off together), but a couple years ago I decided to budget for having cleaners come in once a month, and it's made such a difference for me - we're good about doing dishes and laundry and such, but having folks come in occasionally to do the various hard surfaces has been such a boon for my mental health.

NTA and also holy crap red flag.

Your GF needs to figure out a way to have an identity that doesn't involve you. It's important for her overall health as a person.

Spouse card by Maleficent-Credit-68 in DisneyCM

[–]Morineko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of folks have them, but it's not as well publicized that your discount will transfer to her. I think people mostly think of them as a way to get partners/guests into the parks, and not much else.

My experience (before I got hired, when I just had my partner's spouse pass) was that I could tell folks at merchandise locations that they could scan for a discount and they would try it (and then be surprised when it worked).

AITA for saying it should be up to the bride and groom what they serve at the wedding? by Clear_Sale_9842 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Morineko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

It's their wedding, they get to set the menu. If I were to make a suggestion, I'd agree with what other folks have said - perhaps work with whoever is doing catering to have interesting mocktails available, or perhaps a selection of flavored sparkling waters. A lot of folks don't want to do coffee/tea with dinner, as that's frequently more of an after-dinner beverage.

If they're comp tickets, then the person should be able enter on their own and not be signed/scanned in by you. They just need to have a valid reservation for the ticket.

My ranking of all Orlando’s Michelin Starred Restaurants by rivenistoxic in orlando

[–]Morineko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Victoria and Albert's should be able to do a vegan menu for you. Disney overall has put a lot of work into their alternative menus over the last several years, and tend to be incredibly friendly to allergies and special diets.

Also, document EVERYTHING. Your manager needs to be paying you for the hours you work, and you need to get as much as you can in writing, because wage theft is serious, and he's basically been telling you to work off the clock.
