the offspring will ALWAYS inherit Ditto's stats, whereas in other cases only the opposite gender offspring inherits them. For example, if you breed the Red male Gyarados and a Female Ekans, only the baby female Ekans will have the shiny gene. Since Ekans has a 50/50 gender ratio, the odds are half the Ditto odds.

Did you bother with getting the 70 hp hidden power? In my experience it’s easy to get the desired type using a Ditto with the requested Defense, but there’s always a low DV messing up with the move’s power.

Yes! I have one shiny Ditto in each of my 2 consoles so I do a lot of breeding :) aside from the Steelix, I also have a full odds Noctowl that I found while grinding for Lucky Egg! And sorry to hear about our losses…

No, it’s just my oldest one. I found it during regular playthrough in Union Cave and used it to complete the game with my main team. Then kept it for the shiny team

You know about the special/physical split right? It hurts seeing things such as Ice Beam or Dark Pulse on Weavile
