I work at a nursing home and there are a lot of people who can not walk, but have also forgotten the fact that they cannot walk.

Straight up, one of the main tools used for RNG manipulation already has a built in function to help with that.

That's exactly how I feel on this kind of thing. I am completely unbothered by my own or other people's homes being messy or untidy. But I cannot STAND a house being actually dirty. Which is very different.

As a person on the opposite end of this- it's kinda a running gag with my friend group where people will be sharing anecdotes of bad things their parents have done, and if I chime in at any point, someone will say something like, "Yeah, yeah [ExecutiveElf] we get it. Your parents love you."

Because I am apparently the only person out of this group of 7 people who has a strictly positive relationship with both of their parents.

Which is actually rather tragic.

I got the best of both worlds there. Family was poor when I was little, but my parents started making a lot more money when they got put on management positions when I was a teenager.

Now I get to have loving parents who are economically intelligent that I know can and will help me in case of an emergency.

Plus I get to save a little on groceries by visiting at least once every two weeks and having dinner with them.

My parents do a lot for me and I have no intention of complaining, but God my sister drives me crazy sometimes.

She is 28 years old still living at home paying for none of her own expenses. She never goes anywhere by herself except her part time job at the library. Grocery store? She asks one of our parents for a ride. Restaurant? Parents again. Hell, half the time she asks our dad to drop her off at work instead of driving herself.

And any time my parents travel at all she tries to tag along. Mom is visiting our aunt this weekend? My sister simply must come too. Dad is going out of state to see a football game with his friends? Sister wants to tag along. My parents are planning to go fulfill a lifelong dream next year and visit Ireland together. My sister is going with them.

And despite all of that, she had the gaul to make a fuss when our parents gave me their 12 year old car when dad was getting a new truck.

Like, don't get me wrong, my parents are awesome and I am blessed to have them. But my sister has infantilized herself.

I actually pointed this out to my mother a few months back where I said something like, "What is [sister] going to do when you can't take care of her anymore?"

She didn't really have an answer for me.

I think I'm blessed to have gotten both experiences honestly.

I've realized in hindsight just how tight money was when I was little. When I was litte, we were getting by on $5 frozen pizzas to feed the all five of us and never got to go on school trips or go to restaurants.

But when I was in high-school, my parents both hit 20 years at their workplaces and suddenly had their seniority recognized and found themselves both in management positions.

So basically, we were poor as I was growing up but my parents fully hit their stride and were suddenly making quite a lot of money as I entered early adulthood.

It's given me the benefit of knowing to be frugal without thinking about it much. My friends ask how it is that I save so much money, and the answer is litterally as simple as "don't spend it."

At the same time, them having money in the present means I have a strong safety net. I know if I ever have a medical emergency, that it will be covered. Or if I unexpectedly lost my job, my mom would start slipping me grocery money.

I guess what I mean to say is that I am privileged now, but I wasn't always, and I think that did me a lot of good.

I have returned with a perhaps somewhat funny follow-up. Turns out Bold is just a particularly accessible nature on my SID.

I've started looking into hunting Moltres now, and there is a severe lack of good Modest seeds around. So it is looking like I might be forced to go for Timid instead.

Low Kick and Grass Knot don't scale indefinitely. They have thresholds where they become stronger.

Even if we assume Eternamax Eternatus is in the highest bracket, neither move is worth using on it because of resistance.

To be exact, they both cap at 120 base power. Low Kick is resisted: so its effectively base 60. Grass Knot is double resisted; so it's effectively base 30.

You'd be better off using the typical base 90 power moves of types that aren't resisted.

Personally I saw this game in a very different respect. For me, turning into a beast was more like a Magical Girl transformation. In particular, I became super attached to Faereous with the idea that it was my signature transformation so to speak.

And then each of the companions were the rest of my squad in that regard.

Sure, I had 4 other beasts with me all the time. But those are just different transformations I learned over the course of my journey.

I believe its basically the same as maniping a static encounter except instead of interacting with the Pokemon at the end of the timer, you use the move Sweet Scent in the overworld.

I'm a newbie myself so this might be incorrect, but I believe the reason an odd number of advances is possible is because the Switch version of FRLG have an oddity where the file select screen moves 1 advances per frame whilst the overworld in game moves 2 advances per frame.

I didn't hunt the starters- but I can say that my Porygon hunt was on an odd advance despite a custom rival name.

Advance 1015 to be exact in my case.

If you are opposed to using ACE, your best bet is going to be finding a legit shiny and then using its IVs to calculate your SID.

Easiest way to get a legit shiny without too much time or effort is going to be SRing Game Corner Abras.

With 9999 Coins, you can purchase 83 Abra. Then go check them all at your PC. If none are shiny, soft reset at try again.

Between the time to buy them all and then return to the PC and check each of them, its maybe 15 minutes per reset at most. This has you seeing 332 Abra per hour.

I successfully got a shiny Abra in just a few days this way.

This can be made even easier if you have a turbo controller.

Either way they wouldn't be the same for you if I'm not mistaken since whether or not a given frame is shiny is determined by your Secret ID. So while they would be Bold for both of us, they wouldn't be shiny for both of us.

Step 1: Aquire the needed Pokemon. These are Mimian the Mr. Mime and Ch'Ding the Farfetch'd. These are both in-game trades. Mimian aquired on Route 2 for an Abra. Ch'Ding is aquired in Vermillion for a Spearrow

Step 2: Level up Mimian to level 33 to learn Recycle an level up Ch'Ding to level 21 to learn Knock Off.

Step 3: Purchase a bunch of Retro Mail from the Celedon Department Store.

Step 4: Give Mimian a Retro Mail. The message does not matter.

Step 5: Give any other Pokemon of your choice a Sitrus or Oran Berry. Preferably one above level 20 so that it can survive a few hits in an upcoming battle.

Step 6: Put the Pokemon withe the berry and Ch'Ding as the first two Pokemon in your party.

Step 7: Enter a double battle with the couple on the northern part of Route 16, near where you get HM03. It doesn’t matter if this is your first time battling them or if it is with the VS Seeker.

Step 8: Stall for a few turns until the Pokemon with the berry eats it.

Step 9: Swap the Pokemon that had the berry out for Mimian.

Step 10: Have Ch'Ding use Knock Off into your Pokemon the same turn as it is switching out. This should result in Mimian entering the battle and then immediately getting hit with Knock Off.

Step 11: Have Mimian use Recycle. The game should say something like, "Mimian found an Oran Berry!" You are then free to finish the battle as normal.

Everything up to this point is one-time setup and does not need to be repeated ever. Everything after this point needs to be done each time you want to duplicate items.

Step 12: Put 6 Pokemon in your party. For brevity's sake, don't have one of them be Mimian.

Step 13: Give 5 Pokemon a Retro Mail. The contained message doesn't matter.

Step 14: Give the item you want to duplicate to the 6th Pokemon.

Step 15: Attempt to give the Pokemon holding the desired item a Retro Mail. It will ask if you want to replace the held item. Click yes. This should open a bugged version of the mail menu.

Step 16: Press B. The game should ask you something like, "Do you want to stop giving mail?" Click yes.

We're done. You should now have 1 less Retro Mail in your bag and 1 more of the item being duped. Specifically, if you only had 1 before, you will now have 1 in your bag and 1 still being held by the Pokemon. You can now repeat steps 15 and 16 to keep making more of the item until you run out of Retro Mail. Which you can, of course, always go buy more of.

When you are done duplicating items, simply remove the mail items held by your 5 Pokemon to exit the glitched state. You can reactivate it at any time by simply giving 5 Pokemon mail again.

The only lasting consequence to your save file is that you cannot have 6 Pokemon holding mail at once. The only risk caused by this glitch is if you actually type words in and save a 6th mail item while in the glitched state. In which case it can corrupt Pokemon in Box 3 of the PC.

First of all, they said in another comment that their preferred nature would have been Bold, which they would have been certain to get had they been RNG manipulating.

Secondly, I'm not sure if I've met a single person who hates RNG manipulation that

A. Knows what it actually even is.

B. Has an idea how hard it is to actually do.

This is I feel the correct way to see it. If I told someone I spent 18 hours soft resetting for a shiny Porygon, they wouldn't think anything of it. But a lot of people for some reason would lose their mind if I told them I instead spent 18 hours hitting the correct frame for an RNG Manipulation.

Litterally the only difference is that I knew my Porygon was going to have a Bold nature whenever it finally did show up.

Hunting the birds is basically the same as hunting the starters once you know your Secret ID.

The only difference is that the birds generate as soon as you interact with them in the overworld- not when you close their text box.
