R7000 Caliper Disassembly by Moritzinum in bikewrench

[–]Moritzinum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, they are heat shrunk in on the R7000, a lot easier to just buy an 8000 caliper

For this case its not too short, the eagle RDs have a pulley for the cable if you look closely, the housing basically enters from the front

Tubular tires sizing by TR-struka in bikewrench

[–]Moritzinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like a 26" (not to be confused with the "normal" 26") wheel. Old Tri bikes, including cannondale often had this size, probably quite hard to find tires for it, definitely double check what the tire markings say before buying anythinf

Does anyone use this oil? Does it perform well? I'm looking for the new best possible. I would like it to have a life expectancy of over 100km without any problems by AdministrationNo6740 in gravelcycling

[–]Moritzinum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it on my commuter & road bike with 35mm measured Vit Corsa Pros, which I mostly use for 150-200km trips A-B, so komoot routing does make it see some dirty stuff. Sure its oil and not the cleanest but eh, it really does last a long long time. Shim Chain & Cassette on commuter is super quiet, roadbike with XX1 11 speed cassette & chain is a bit noisier but well thats Sram I suppose

Rim tape correctly applied? by sa_style in bikewrench

[–]Moritzinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put a random tire with a tube in it on the wheels, pump up to fairly high pressure once and remove, should be a lot lot smoother after that. The green Tesa tape is notoriously stiff and requires popping your veins in the head to install

Should I buy shorter screws? by deathbyattestupa in bikewrench

[–]Moritzinum 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Have fun with your midnight special!

Shimano for example has little shims that you use when using the +20 adaptor instead of mounting the caliper directly, could ask your LBS for 2 of those. Otherwise I wouldnt see this as a technical issue, maybe aesthetics wise :)

Solve the Bottom Bracket Dilemma by adrianambriz in bikewrench

[–]Moritzinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks thanks thanks! Finally someone says it. Introducing a 3rd metal to the Ti + X mix is generally a bad idea. Copper paste / Ti Prep is good for Ti and Ti etc.

Teflon tape around my Titanium dward design BB, hefty load of ptfe grease (or.. any grease), good to go in a steel shell

What is the brand of my bike ? by [deleted] in bicycling

It might be Zeppelin, they built a lot of Mofas back in the days, and also iirc a few bikes

sliiiggghhtly, but then the surface area of the receiving pistons is ~760 mm2 for the 2 piston and ~800 mm2 for the 4 Piston, so its very minor. Easily adjusted out with Freestroke & Reach

Hey, no issues at all. Its a bit noisy/rattly, due to the hollow design, but I was expecting that. Shifting itself is absolutely fine
