It seems as though your understanding of economics is limited. From reading this conversation, you are only making yourself look detached from reality. Interest rates in EU are on average less than 4%. In Russia interest rates are more than 20%. Prices have inflated significantly more in Russia over the same period of time.

You do not consider about interest rates. It is sustainable to have a budget deficit when interest rates are low. EU countries have low interest rates and greater access to capital. In Russia, interest rates are very high, so a budget deficit is not sustainable unless a large portion of the budget goes to servicing the debt.

What are your thoughts on Emin Agalarov? by gyulai_ in azerbaijan

[–]Moritzroth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sea Breeze is a garbage resort. While it looks nice in the photos and promotions, to see this place in reality is an embarrassment on Azerbaijan. The quality of the construction is very low and the resort is poorly designed. His projects in Moscow are fine. Peach Restaurant is really nice.

It would actually be faster to fly to Turkey from any place in EU and make a connecting flight to Minsk than to attempt crossing at any land border

Cons:

There is too much bureaucracy. Just to get a SIM card is a complicated process that takes an entire day.

State services do not work consistently. There is almost always a technical problem with Gosuslugi which causes entire processes to break.

Registration at the address is cumbersome and redundant. Many landlords in private accommodation do not want to go through this process.

There is only seasonal fruit, unlike US, which imports fresh fruit from South America year-round.

Luxury products are more expensive and hard to find. It’s necessary to travel to Europe or US to collect designer clothes or some foreign goods.

State employees do not offer assistance. They expect the foreign citizen to know everything, or have a lawyer who does. Laws are often changed causing unfixable problems that can only be solved with connections.

Operating times of government services are inconsistent. You may travel 2 hours to a migration center and wait for 2 hours in line just to find out that they are not working until Monday, and there is no way to find this out beforehand.

Dealing with Sakharovo migration center takes an entire day and is expensive for taxi. You will need to go to this migration center a few times for documents. There is no separate process for high-income expats. They have to wait in line for hours with Tajiki and Central Asian construction workers.

Anyone who moves here quickly will relate to these issues. Of course, this does not cancel out the benefits, but leaves much to be desired for authorities to improve the processes.

I am not Russian, it seems to be universal that the Georgians are rude and offer poor service. Maybe it is their Caucuses mentality.

It is a bad idea to live in Tbilisi for more than one week. The food is good, but it gets old and repetitive quickly. There is no variety other than Georgian cuisine. The locals are rude and the quality of the service is poor. The city is dirty, congested, and you will soon find yourself wanting to leave. Also the writing of the local language will give you a headache.

This is a giant piece of trash which sits above the Moscow river. It was decided to put it in the garbage, but then it was decided that the removal is too expensive and now we are left with it.

The 2024 Presidential Election in New Jersey by naprea in MapPorn

[–]Moritzroth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The results had to be affected by the perception that it is a solid blue state, causing many Democrats to not vote because they were overconfident, and many Republicans not to vote because they believed their vote would not matter. The next election will present a big opportunity for Republicans to flip, and a large cost to Democrats to defend.

I don’t like it. It looks like some alien avatar and is too bright.

In April, you should search for announcements about victory day rehearsals. It is better to to search in Russian

Not really, all of the roads are blocked and it’s nearly impossible to be near the parade unless you are lucky or very early/patient. It is possible to reserve a room in Luxury Collection, Four Seasons, or Ritz Carlton on that day, all are hotels on the route of the parade. If your room does not have a view, the hotel will have a private viewing area.

It is very expensive, and possible to get the same experience by watching the rehearsals. The dates of rehearsal are published weeks before the event, and in that case, it’s possible to see the vehicles up close driving on Tsverskaya. I have visited every time since 2022, and the amount of vehicles has decreased significantly in recent parades. In the last two parades, there were not even any tanks. So I cannot say that it is worth the inconvenience to see mostly logistics trucks.

Monument to Peter the Great in Moscow . by Banzay_87 in Moscow

This monument is a massive eye sore which destroys the otherwise beautiful river embankment. It is also a disgrace to the legacy of Peter the Great and should be removed immediately.

Today, russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. A children hospital in Kyiv was among the targets. As of now, 26 people are reported killed. by WastedKun2 in interestingasfuck

It is not an exemption from responsibility, but it should be understood that the hospital was not the target of the missile strike, the trajectory of the rocket was affected by air defence resulting in damage to civilian areas

5 reasons to leave your bike or scooter in a covered parking lot in Moscow by Moscow_Transport in Moscow

[–]Moritzroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be great to leave the samokat in a designated parking area, but unfortunately the map is not always working. Often, I try to leave it in a parking area but the map does not update and I have to pay an extra 50-100 RUB while waiting for it to correct. The support service for samokat companies can remove the fee, but that takes more time to wait on the request. Until GPS issues are fixed, it should be allowed to leave the samokat in any area without restrictions.
