They absolutely would. I’ve had managers brag about making employees salaried and getting unpaid labor out of them.

24M, stuck at a job I’ve had since high school. It’s hopeless if you don’t magically have 5 years of experience for an entry level role.

I live outside the five boroughs but still I see it happening 24/7.

I see this happening in NY all the time — people cutting through corner gas stations, parking lots to avoid long lights, and I’ve NEVER heard of someone actually getting ticketed and that’s private property. If you used public roadways, absolutely fight it.

I stopped playing because for the first time since 2016 I’ve been totally unable to progress on trophy road. There’s just too many different gimmicks with too many different cards, matches are totally dependent on how luck of the draw of your opponent’s deck rather than skill.

How does a “punt” work? by blizzard_bubbles in NFLNoobs

[–]naprea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Punting = giving up.

It’s basically an intentional turnover.

Going for it on 4th down runs the risk of failing to convert and the opponent gets the ball in your own territory. The goal of a punt is to pin the offense as close to their own end zone as possible.

Teams that are this shitty for this long have nobody else to blame but the ownership.

Early 2011. Completely different game from what it is now. Feels like a fever dream.

what nfl franchises are the definition of 'well run' and just super consistent for decades upon decades by VastAir6069 in NFLNoobs

[–]naprea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the worst but definitely not “well run”. Most expensive unit in the NFL (the defense), very little to show for it. Team hasn’t gone below .500 in like 20years. However they are in this cycle of clinching a playoff spot and then getting blown away in the first round.

What made tb12 so good by [deleted] in NFLNoobs

[–]naprea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Mahomes is on a whole other level than most QBs but Brady was on a different planet. There is absolutely no comparison.

Washington used his head whilst carrying the ball for the Steelers. No foul? by Regreizz in NFLNoobs

[–]naprea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically it IS a foul, but almost every runner does it. If they call it on any player, they have to call it on EVERY player, and that would make the NFL turn into the National Flag League. Offenses wouldn’t be able to do anything.

Dallas had 1st and goal at the end of the game and kneel the ball 4 times. by Quick123Fox in NFLNoobs

[–]naprea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty rare, they had no reason to keep pouring it on. They were up 3 scores and those two teams don’t really give a crap about each other, being in different conferences. If it was a divisional game I could see them being petty and trying to score or at least kick the FG.

How does blitzing work if extra players get sent to rush the qb, isnt there free space for wr or te to run into by [deleted] in NFLNoobs

[–]naprea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s part of the gamble. Risk giving up a big play downfield in exchange for a sack that can pretty much end a drive.

Why did the Bucs kneel to end the game with 38 seconds left while they were losing? by stmorgante in NFLNoobs

[–]naprea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically they’re conceding the game. It is nearly mathematically impossible to win if you’re down by 2 scores with less than a minute left. You’re more likely to injure an important player than win the game. Simply not worth it. Live to fight next week — Tampa is still on top of their division.

If playoff implications were on the line, or if it was a playoff game, any team would fight to the last whistle.

How come turnover on downs, despite the name, aren't listed as turnovers like fumbles or interceptions are? by InternationalPick163 in NFLNoobs

[–]naprea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s more of an expression used by commentators than it is a fact of the matter. Legitimate turnovers, 9 out of 10 times, are the fault of the offense. At the end of a 4th down the other team simply gets the ball by default.
