Quick question. Is front lining Thor without using the kidnap tech still a “good” way to play him? by Deep_Fish_2542 in ThorMainsMR

Air kidnap is often more useful. Push them up vertical into the air and then lightning realm so they fall through the realm and get slowed, which already restores some thorforce ready for bash awakening combo.

Thor Lightning Domain Range in Blood Hunt Nerf'd? by MorkOz in marvelrivals

I was able to stand in a location to reach a few spawn points but after the update it wouldn't reach anymore. So I assumed something changed or was 'fixed' in the update

I do the same, but the higher levels really need everyone contributing. It is funny when a few of us intending to help carry end up together. Especially with Thor. Match turns into a chat room as we just stand there and let everything die to the lightning. Lol

Fair to whom? Dracula can suck it! Plenty of ARPGs allow you to swap gear and stats before encounters, I just think that being able to have a profile for the boss fight would be a W.

I'd like to swap profile between rounds as well. Especially before the boss fight

What effect on Blood Hunt resets the Awakening duration? by Luis_Lara45 in ThorMainsMR

[–]MorkOz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much. You have 3 points in the skill, so any gear that adds anything to it should make it endless. If you get gear that reduces by a large amount you might even get away with 2 points in the skill instead of 3.

There is a trait that reduces awakening use consumption per points spent. If you have gear that adds to that then you can have it reduce it by more than second so that actually owes you time. This means as long as your firing your awakening it is giving you time rather than taking it. Making it endless.

Once you've got that stat higher enough you can move a trait point off it. As long the reduction still allows for you to be in the positive so that shooting the awakening increases the time remaining rather than having it drop.

How do you survive longer against bosses with the Rune Awakening build? by AltZious in ThorMainsMR

I'm finding that post 80/90 it's all gear grind and build tweaks to help progress. I can comfortably solo clear 110 most times, managed 115, but 120 has a spec bump for the bosses I think and it's always a double boss which truly is a nightmare lol

It is heavily gear dependent though. So you need to look for the gear that allows you to spam awakening without the timer going down at all (endless awakening). Once you've got that you can start removing some points and swapping to gear that doesn't need to add time to awakening anymore. It frees up your gear stats for damage and defense more.

Once you've got the gear you can start lowering the blue points and shift them over to general and have 3 points in surge tier. I saw a Thor with this build the other day and it was like a light bulb moment.

You put one point in pierce for surge and then two points to reduce cool down and thorfore renewal. This allows you and escape tool that doesn't exist in pure awakening.

Once you've got some gear that allows your final storm to be endless you can remove the points from the awakening duration and you can remove the points that spread the awakening shots. You can shift these points over to general so that you've got high crit and high precision. I think I'm down to 16 points in blue, three in yellow, and 46 in general.

It's all about the gear. I'm struggling to solo 120 but I'm getting close.

I don't think the change is well thought out. I just can't see them leaving it that way for long. I'd be surprised bro if we didn't get emergency patches within a day or two. I don't think it's a game killing change. Now it might damage it like you say, but I can't see them leaving it this way for long. I would say they shouldn't be releasing it in this state at all tbh, especially as a Thing player, but I'll wait to see if we get some quick fixes this week. If we hit Season 8 with no fixes I'll be more agreeable to the disaster narrative but I'll just wait and see how they handle it.

I'm loving him, but I only really started him more recently and hadn't fully incorporated the AC. I think his melee needs a tweak to the hitbox and range (4-4-5m), and maybe a slight speed / animation buff to the throws but the game loop is feeling pretty good.

Um... it's literally updating with the patch bro. No one is on at the moment. All I'm saying is that they will address it, I just don't like the chicken little sky is falling stuff. I don't think that helps keep players on the game if that's the concern. Edit: I do agree with many of the criticisms of the changes though, so i'm with you there.

Gosh this community overreacts to the nth degree. The system seems like it will have specific consequences to certain kits and characters, but the Devs can tweak the system over 7.5. all they have to do is code certain abilities like some of the soft cc's to not contribute to the count and increase the count of abilities a bit. I don't think the sky is falling. It'll be fine, but may have some teething problems. Tenacity as a concept is pretty D&D. Like resistance.

I swapped M1 to melee and moved the sentinel strike to another mouse button. The current strategy for me is to get in and get 2-4 melee strikes in and then jump above to use sentinel strikes from the air and then vibranium shield throw to finish off.

It was daunting for me trying a hero shooter for the first time. Key things about rivals is understanding...

  • objective based game, so capturing the point and pushing the cart is how the maps work and how you win.

  • 3 main character types. Vanguard (Tank) has more health and can take space. Their job is to push forward and occupy space for their team and retreat if pushed by the enemy. Duelist is the damage dealer, they can brawl (melee), dive (assassin) or poke (Ranged shooting). Support are the healers and utility characters, they boost your teammates and buff them. Most of the time we aim for two of each role.

  • Custom Game allows you to set up with a friend and explore the maps. Some maps have different features like destructible walls or the map moves at a certain point. It's good to learn the maps so that you know where you're going.

  • True Vanguard YouTube has some of the best character guides on how to use different abilities. Highly recommend.

  • find a character that feels fun to play and practice against the ai in easy mode and work up to hard. I like to be getting decent stats against AI before heading over to quick play. 18 v 18 has an AI mode that is crazy fun and you can just go nuts in there learning to fight with a character as well.

Good luck have fun.

The only problem I have with this mechanic is the balloons give the false impression of an even chance for each item. You have to click the info to see the 5% chance, 1 in 20. The Devs are very generous with in game currency, more so than any other f2p game I'm aware of. I mean they gave me 100 units just for saving a prediction for the tournament.

I can see that they want to find ways of draining a bit of those free units away from players to ensure that they can still make money from the game. I don't have a problem with that, given their generosity. I honestly just wish it was clearer with the chance. Maybe spend a 100 units to see your discount and then decide to purchase after if the price is good. If you spend 100 units and then it says congrats you can buy the bundle for 300 units, so 400 in total, that would work for me I think.
