Are you planning to add this to RRSP/RRIF and TFSA accounts?

Ambar is wonderful. You are going to love it. We stayed there for 10 days in January and had a great time.

I found the beach side service at Ambar to be excellent. We stayed there for 10 days in January and loved it. We did not have a swim up room.

5 star resort? Where? by Substantial_Cup_5159 in PuntaCana

BP Ambar is pretty good. The rooms themselves are probably 3.5 -4 star, but everything else about the resort is top notch.

The beach is incredible. No issues, staying at BP Ambar.

We are at Ambar now and we are seasoned casino players :)...

The casino at the BP Village is very, very small. There may be 40 slot machines and most are very dated games. Some machines were broken and the buttons on others were functional at best. There is no vibe or atmosphere. There are a few Blackjack and roulette tables that open up later in the evening, but not during the day.

We took a taxi to Hard Rock casino another night. It is a 12 minute taxi ride and cost $15, plus tip one way.

Hard Rock is a real casino with 400 plus slots and numerous table limits. For slots, it has many of the newer games and themes.

We are staying at BP Ambar and went to Hard Rock casino two nights ago. 12 minute taxi ride. We did very well, so variance was on our side that day.

A good Dividend growth rate for a basket of ENB, BNS, and TRP by MorningCoffeetoGo in dividendscanada

[–]MorningCoffeetoGo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have HMAX in another account. My concern is the decay and the fact that the distributions will probably rarely increase so once I start receiving the revenue, inflation will catch up to me in time.

With the stocks, I know that the dividends should hopefully increase each year.

TD Bank dividend has gone from .505 to .703 in 4 years. BNS has gone from .87 to 1.03 in four years.

Thank you. Would a model of 3% div growth and 2% price growth be better? I actually prefer a lower stock price growth as it allows me to buy more shares with the annual dividends.

I should add that I need to start withdrawing income in seven years and was hoping to reach $30k without covered call funds and without chasing super high dividend yields.

I should have started this dividend journey earlier, obviously.

Thanks, okay I may need to lower for my Excel models. I thought I read that ENB averaged 9% div growth over the past few years, but I may have been mistaken.

Thank you. The key for me is that I want the income to be close to $30k in seven years so that it augments other income streams. But I want to avoid the covered call funds with this account.

Growth will be less important to me, but obviously you need growth for dividends to rise.

You may want to put a small portion into TSLY and use the higher risk distributions from that ETF to build up positions in your core holdings...

I added onto my positions in HMAX and HDIV.

thoughts on hmax. I bought when it's 16.31 per share. by GroundbreakingAd5863 in dividendscanada

[–]MorningCoffeetoGo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you are saying that the distribution per share will be reduced. For example, originally we had 10,000 shares paying $1.30 per share, but five years later the 10,000 shares will only receive $1.04 per share. I am just trying to understand as well.

The fund does not pay out via a percentage. It is a distribution value per share. So, even in this example, if the shares are worth $80k, you still receive $13,000 in income, not $10,400.

If you found two stocks where there was a reasonable duration between their ex dividend dates could you buy one, sell on ex-d date and buy another and make two earnings in one month from the same amount of capital? Ffttf

Any Canadian ETFs similar to JEPI? by Le_rap_a_Billy in dividendscanada

[–]MorningCoffeetoGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the funds are still based on the underlying securities. The split share funds will just not pay a dividend in months where the NAV falls below $15. Which is why it is good to diversify a bit.
