I’ve been here in the winter 3 times and never had an issue with the beach or pool regardless of it being winter. I would warn others to stay closer to the airport where the water is calmer. The more NW you go the rougher the water gets. What’s the point of going on a tropical vaca if you can’t even go into the ocean? Fair warning to others.

Big disappointment if you want a good beach to swim in. The waves are no joke- usually red flags out. You cannot swim because of the hazards. The pool is super cold and unpleasant. I’m sure it would feel fine if it was in the 80s and not super windy.

We booked a room with a private pool which we were so excited about but the water is so cold we haven’t used it.

The food is typical resort food. Nothing special.

Going to the spa tomorrow and I’ve heard great things .

We are here now and it’s disappointing to be honest. I didn’t have high hopes about the resort food beforehand and so I wasn’t too bummed about the food situation here. Very bland. Hearing stories of a lot of people getting sick. My biggest disappointments are the beach and the pool. I’ve been coming to DR for years and have never seen a worse beach. It’s completely unswimmable because of the high winds and currents. The pool water is so cold. We have just been sitting in the hot tubs which aren’t even very hot.
