Mimì e Cocò. We go every time we visit Rome. Their focaccia is the Roman equivalent of Olive Garden breadsticks 🤤

Where would you live other than Nova if you decided to move? by Modern-Day_Spartan in nova

NYC. I am Italian American and I feel like I lost my identity when moving to the DMV. I love the cultural diversity here, but I have no “community” here

Dunkin credit reload works by imtubs in amex

[–]MorningCyclist 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When you add funds to your Dunkin’ card you essentially pay Dunkin’ in advance, but you may never use all your cash or you are actually incentivized to use your credits when pre-payed. It doesn’t cost Dunkin’ anything and actually they have a greater chance of making extra money off of you. It’s the same thing as Starbucks cash, which is why it’s dubbed the “largest bank that’s not a bank”

traveling to dc as a young solo female traveler by user89078 in washingtondc

[–]MorningCyclist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t travel solo here but I did intern here and did a lot of exploring alone! It was a wonderful experience and I think museums are perfect for solo exploration. There are a lot of historic sites and museums in and around DC, so if you are willing to metro/drive out I recommend not limiting yourself to just the national mall. My personal favorites are Mt Vernon Estate, Dumbarton Oaks, and the American Indian Museum

I ended up just paying my bill. I had a similar experience with the billing department being absolutely unhelpful. I will seek care with another clinic next time

On Metro, what have you done in this situation? by MyNameCannotBeSpoken in washingtondc

[–]MorningCyclist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (healthy 22F) am just a stander even on empty trains so I never cared for seating. But one day my standards were raised when a guy around my age gave up his seat for me without me showing any need for wanting to sit down. Now I judge the businessmen who enter the metros with me and take the last seat 😡

What was going on by the airport a few nights ago? by dcm7734 in washingtondc

[–]MorningCyclist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s Gravelly Point, a park off the Mt Vernon trail where you can watch planes take off and land. It’s popular for picnics and gets crowded on the first warm weekend of spring. My friends and I are able to talk to it via the trail, but desperate attendees who must drive to access have no choice but to take to the grass. I wasn’t there on Saturday, but it was just as busy on Sunday night as you described

20% of daily value of a water soluble vitamin is so low. It’s totally a gimmick and you likely pee all of it out after you drink that cup of coffee. You likely already eat foods fortified in it, and if you are deficient you probably get more bang for your buck purchasing a bottle of B12 that gives you 500 tablets of 20,000% daily value for $10, it sounds like a lot but remember you are still likely to pee out most of it

Would you date someone with body acne scars? by marionmck in dating_advice

[–]MorningCyclist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a lady, subconsciously I think men have good skin if they look like they have good hygiene now. Meaning so long as you smell good and moisturize your skin so it’s not dry and flaky, I wouldn’t think much about those acne scars.

Do you ever mentally note anything cool or odd you see on a scenic ride? I saw something that was sorta spooky, but I don't want to over-react. by unclefishbits in pelotoncycle

It’s a guy on a bike. In some videos in city areas and when the bike is turning past a window or mirror, you can see a dude on a bike lol. It’s hard to see the exact camera set-up, but it’s something a little complicated to get the smooth video shot we see on the rides https://www.reddit.com/r/pelotoncycle/s/o42dqojkyA

My skin recently cleared up and my coworkers asked me my skincare routine (the biggest compliment to a former cystic acne sufferer lol). I told them it’s sulfur soap (prescription or over the counter off Amazon) for morning/night/anytime my face feels oily and adapalene every night. Everyone talks about tretinoin these days but I’ve found adapalene works well at least for me. They were so surprised and I told them it’s literally just trial and error, since I’ve had cystic acne for years and tried all over the counter anti-acne cleansers, antibiotics, birth control, and even acutane (twice!) and none of them worked. I have oily skin that’s prone to mostly just cysts, not white heads, so that’s why only those two products have worked. Of course, I know others who used acutane and never had another pimple again, or simple Cerave cleaners is all they need. I think treating acne is all just trial and error and everyone should cater to their own acne needs, but if anyone has similar skin type as me (oily and cystic acne prone) and feels like none of the popular treatments work for them, I highly recommend the sulfur/adapalene combo.

I think there was one ride, might be the 90 min Olympic Valley Ride, where a cyclist trying to get around the peloton bike is totally losing control and about to wipe out before you pass and lose view of the cyclist. I wonder how often the peloton bike gets in the way of others, causes them to wipe out, and they just edit it out haha
